A Bit of Me

SATURDAY
Photobucket
Good morning all !!  It is early here and the weather is supposed to be hot and humid later on.  So my plan is to get all my Saturday Computer To-Dos done and then grab my book, iced coffee and head on out to the backyard, get in the pool on my float and read.

So if you comment and it doesn’t show up quickly, you will know where I am.  What are your plans today?

From her blog:
We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.
Today’s glimpse:
So, let’s get started!

This Weeks Question: What is your favorite smell and why? Does it bring back memories?

A Bit of CMash:
It also reminds me of vacations, which we are so overdue for.

Then it would be scents of different foods.  My mom and grandmother were great cooks/bakers and I would love walking into the house smelling what they had just cooked and/or prepared.  Examples like homemade pasta dough for lasagna, blueberry and apple pies.

This one will sound strange but its the smell of gas.  That brings back vivid memories of my Dad.  He owned a service station and whenever I smell the scent, I think of him.

Do you have favorite smells, why does it trigger memories?

  1. I would have trouble picking out one smell, but certain foods cooking are right up there. I also love the smell of babies and puppies.

  2. Ahhh, what i would do for some sunshine in my neck of the woods. It's pouring rain here but i think i'll curl up under my blankie with my next read. Have a good one cheryl : )

  3. Wow, as I click around the sphere and read all the posts, every scent you all mention triggers something of mine. When you mentioned "gas," I thought about my dad, too. Back when he used to let me trail around after him in his shop. He did a lot of different things, and working on cars and machinery was some of what he did.

    Here's my post today:

  4. My father love the smell of gas too.I think I love my fiacee adidas perfume..Makes me miss him now!

  5. My dad delivers gas and fuel, and comes home smelling like that every day, but I don't actually associate that with him. I wonder why?

Oh, cooking smells. They just always smell like home, no matter where you are, don't they?

  6. I am going to have to participate in this today 🙂

Your memories and smells just bring a smile to my face!

Hope you have a blessed weekend my friend

  7. Oh how I love the smells of baking! My mom is a wonderful cake baker and her home always smells of baked goods of some sort as well. Isn't it fabulous? You can almost taste the pounds being added to your waist line, but it's so worth it! 🙂

And I actually don't think the gas smell is all that odd. It always reminds me of jumping in the car and going for drives!

Great choices! Thank you so much for sharing them with everyone!

  8. Me too – too many smells. Cut grass, the smell of coffee when you first open the can when it goes psssssssssssssst A baby just out of the tub. Home baked bread and when my NaNa was cooking Spaghetti sauce especially when she started cooking the sausage. mmmmmmmmmmm Dammit! I'm hungry now! See what you started!!!
