From An Island Life:
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My Question?
On Wednesday my mom celebrated her 89th birthday!!
So my question is:  How do you celebrate your birthday?
My Answer:
On my 29th, 34th, 42, 49,  birthday, hubby and I usually go out to eat with

our 2 sons and their gfs, and then stop some where for an after dinner drink.

And hubby always surprises me with a great gift!!

  1. I'm at the age when birthday's aren't all that great. Either Carl cooks or we go out and that's about it.

  2. My birthday is in Decemeber and we often get storms. Thanks to that I do not always celebrate on my actual B-day. Usually we go out to dinner and have cake with my kids and parents. This year my actual B-day finner was not done until March.

  3. This year I am going to celebrate my 50th by donating 12 inches of my hair to Locks of Love! My daughter teaches cosmetology and every year her school participates in a Locks of Love event at which she will cut my hair that I am donating.

  4. Well Hubby usually buy me flowers and we go out to dinner. Oh And I take the day off, just lay around or go shopping for Me,Me,Me.LOL.

  5. Ha!
That is just like my question…
We normally just do dinner… It used to be a big party, but then I finally grew up!

  6. With a nice romantic dinner "out" and a little sizzlin' when we get home! :)) Happy Friday to all!

  7. Honestly it's just another day. My mom and I go out to lunch the kids normally make me cards or try to do something nice for me. But really that's it.

  8. I try to always have some eggplant parm because it's my favorite meal but this year I'll probably be getting ready to celebrate little man's 1 year birthday which is the day after mine!

  9. Happy birthday to your Mom!!

Husband and I usually go out to eat for my birthday and he usually gives me a gift. In the past my gifts have usually been some kind of event (such as signing us up for the amazing race that my science center puts on) but this last year I guess he didn't have any great ideas because he asked what I wanted, so we went shopping for some winter running clothes (that stuff is expensive!).

We don't usually do anything major, but it's always enjoyable to go somewhere nice for dinner.

  10. I don't like doing that much for my birthday anymore. I generally just go out to dinner wherever I am…I haven't been home the last 2 years. I have been on vacation.

  11. That's what we do! Hubby, the kids and some of our best friends get together for a fun, relaxing dinner….

  12. Honestly, I do nothing for my birthday. With 7 kids, we never have a sitter to go anywhere alone. I always buy myself something at tax time so I always consider that my gift.
