a very quiet P.S.

OK, I admit, a couple of months ago, I said that I wasn’t going to sign up for as many challenges in 2011.  LOL  Did I listen???  NO !!!  Not only did I sign up for more, I am even cohosting The Three Rs Challenge.

I have been debating whether to add one more.  Heck…what’s one more at this rate.  And this one is truly a challenge.  I signed up for it in 2010 and didn’t read one book for the category, so am going to try again.

Teddy of So Many Precious Books, So Little Time is hosting the Books Won Challenge for a second year. She writes:
I created this challenge last year to challenge myself and others that have won books, to read and review some of them. The reason publishing companies supply books for book bloggers to give away is to get word out about the books and create buzz. I didn’t do very well with this challenge in 2010, I only read one won book. However, 2011 is a New Year and a fresh start. I feel bad that I haven’t read many of the book I have won and want to make an effort to read them in 2011.
If you would like to join me, here are the levels:
Honorable Mention: Read 1-3 book you won.  CHOOSING THIS LEVEL
Bronze: Read 4-6 books you won.
Silver: Read 7-9 Books you won.
Gold: Read 10 or more books you won.
The Rules:
1. You must write a review for each book that you read for it to count. If you do not have a blog you can write your reviews on a place like Amazon, Powell’s, Chapters, etc.
2.Crossovers with other challenges are okay.
3. Audiobooks and ebooks count, as long as you won them.
4. You can change up levels but cannot go back down a level.
5. You don’t have to make a list ahead of time for this challenge but you can if you want to.

  1. My question is how do you win books, in the first place? Is it in blog give-aways, like the one where I won "Fit For Life" from you? Or is it ones where publishers and authors give you books to read? And how do you get the attention of the publishers and authors, so they give you books to read? I never did understand how that works.

  2. And yet another one that I'm going to undertake … I have to go through my TBR pile, but I have lots that I've won, and the fact that they can cross-overs helps, as I have some listed in other challenges! Thanks for the heads up!

  3. I love your addicted to challenges button! In fact, I think you should host an Reading Challenge Addict challenge, where the more challenges you sign up for (and complete) the better! You could have all sorts of levels of addict, maybe with Book Hoarder being one of them… but that could be because I'm watching Hoarders on my dvr right now… lol

  4. I think I might steal the "Addicted to reading challenges button" lol. I am participating in more than 10 next year! Now that I have seen a new challenge, I might take this up too. I tell myself challenges are good for one's TBR mountain.

  5. * Sigh* I guess my sponsoring you for Challenge Addicts Anonymous didn't take. Cheryl, Cheryl, Cheryl, what am I going to do with you? As I used to yell upstairs at my kids when they didn't stop whatever I told them to stop previously, " Don't make me come up there! It won't be pretty."

Lol, have fun with all your challenges and good luck with them in 2011 in keeping them straight.

  6. I took your suggestion and proudly have my Addict Badge pinned to the sidebar of my blog! LOL!
