MONDAY

Photobucket
Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading
This week’s question:
What’s the last thing you stayed up half the night reading because it was so good you couldn’t put it down?
My answer:
I have to be honest, it wasn’t half the night, those days are long gone.  But it was past the time I usually fall asleep and I was fighting to stay awake to read more.  And it was just recently.  It was Godchild by Vincent Zandri.  I have become a big fan of his writing and books, he is like a J. Patterson, A. Hitchcock and with his latest, S. King, all rolled up into one.
Mailcheck
January has been hosted by Rose City Reader
Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of The Printed Page and is now on tour.

According to Marcia, “Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.”
Before sharing my mailbox, I want to give a BIG thank you to Rose City Reader for being a wonderful hostess during the month of January.  I think everyone will agree that it has been a very pleasant experience and she did a fantastic job.  Bravo!!!

For Review:
          Turner Publishing                                                   NetGalley
And I also received from Simon & Schuster The Survivor by Sean Slater (no image available) from signing up for the Mystery/Suspense Challenge being hosted by Carolyn from Book Chick City.  Thank You Carolyn!!!!!

“Meet Me On Monday!”
Blogging is a funny thing…we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time I find myself sitting and wondering, “who is this person!?” I know them…but yet I don’t know them! I want to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought of a great way for all of us to “meet” each other!

Questions:
1. What do you put on your hot dog?
Preferably sweet pepper relish

2. Do you play Sudoku?
No…anything to do with numbers…No

3. What is your favorite vegetable?
When a person is of Italian heritage, there is no such thing as a “favorite food” lol
from asparagus to zucchini and everything in between

4. Do you color your hair?
Moi?  At my age?  LOL

5. What is your favorite brand of clothing?
Only brand of jeans I will buy.

I am very disappointed with myself this month, not a good way to start off the year.  Even with participating in a Read-A-Thon, I am just having a real hard time focusing on reading with everything else that is going on.  I also have realized that when I read slow books back to back, it puts me in a reading slump, so I apologize to those that are waiting for reviews, but am going to try a little experiment for February and see what happens.  I plan to grab a book depending on what kind of reading mood I am in and see if I can get more reading done that way…just an experiment, so we shall see…. to be continued…

  1. Nice post & I agree that you should change to mood based books! It will be much easier to read!

  2. That is commitment when you are reading so much, you doze off…and when you wake up, you have a second wind and continue reading till you can't no more. I am usually a nocturnal reader and if a book has enthralled me, I will read till I am finished no matter the time. Check out my answer for this week'sMonday Musing?

  3. I used to do Sudoku but I prefer the variety in crossword puzzles to keep the ole' brain ticking. Ohhhh…my December was similar to your January. I guess it happens to the best of us 🙂

  4. I love this post. I don't do Memes but they seem like such fun..perhaps I shall start. By the way, I love Sudoku (sorry) and do them daily. I also love your answer to Do you color your hair? Ditto! Have a good day and DO change up those readings (listen who is talking)

  5. Girl I am one book behind you. LOL I stayed up reading The Innocent. Got a review to do for Friday the 4.

  6. I love the variety in your mailbox this week; it's like you received something for almost every reading mood! I have Tick Tock on my shelves and hope to get to it soon! Enjoy the rest of your reading week!
