All other things being equal–do you prefer used books? Or new books? (The physical speciman, that is, not the title.) Does your preference differentiate between a standard kind of used book, and a pristine, leather-bound copy?
My Answer:
Definitely new books. I love the smell of opening a new book for the first time with the spine of the book not bent and turning a crisp page to the very end of the book. And I will only purchase a used book if it is in good condition.

I love new books, but I will buy used books in decent condition. I buy books almost anywhere I find them. I'm really not to picky.
