Saturday Memes

SATURDAY

From Danielle’s blog:
We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.
This week’s question: If you could change something about yourself, what would it be & why?

I admit these are 2 traits I need to work on.  Both that I have been living with these past few months.  I have anticipatory anxiety, the kind where I need to know what is going to happen, need to know every little detail, etc., etc., or I can become spastic.  And as far as patience, some things, I just want done NOW, no waiting, sitting back, let the cards fall where they may.  But as I am learning presently, sometimes patience will pay out in the long run.

I’ve wanted to start a meme like this for a long time. It’s “Anything Goes on Saturday”. It’s a chance to choose any topic you want and talk about it on Saturday – it can be about a book, TV show, movie, a recipe or just an update on your week. Whatever you choose.
Topic:  Spam Explosion
Is it just me?  Lately I have had a spam mailbox explosion!!!  Until recently, I would get 3-5 spam emails, but, lately it is ridiculous!!  Is it the season?  Is anyone else seeing an increase in their spam folder?  Wondering why all of a sudden?  Would love to hear your thoughts!!!!

  1. I can totally relate about wanting to know what's going to happen or how things are going to go down. I love having a plan so I have an idea of what's coming next in my head. I hate going somewhere on my own when I have to go in and find someone I know when I've never been somewhere before…reminds me of my dad dropping me off for the first day of summer camp. Yuck. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I hope you're able to find some help with your anxiety – my mother-in-law has struggled with that and I know it can be debilitating. There's so much I would change about myself, I wouldn't even know where to begin.

  3. I learned a long time ago that worrying which cause lots of anxiety is not worth the time since whatever you worry about will either happen or not so the anxiety you have over it is wasted either way. I however, do need more patience in my life.

    Great post.

  4. Oh, I am very familiar with that "anticipatory anxiety," which figures into my own behavior of worrying and obsessing about things.

Patience…not one of my qualities, either.

Thanks for visiting my blog, and for your kind take on my traits…LOL

  5. I've been getting so much spam that I had to change my spam settings! It was ridiculous!

I'm typically pretty patient, fortunately. Makes me much happier! I used to be more impatient, I was able to encourage patience in myself over time.

  6. I've been getting spam lately too. I'm trying not to change to moderate status because I work all day and my comments wouldn't be cleared until I came home at night. More work for me that I don't need, but I may have to give in and change it to moderate status. I hate that.

  7. Ugh. Anxiety. I actually have to take something because after having my children my heart rate just never settles down long enough to breathe. Isn't that awful?! I'm afraid it's something I'll deal with forever. Hopefully we can both get better with time, *fingers crossed*.

As for the spam, YES! And the added emails in general. It's like someone put out a public service announcement for book bloggers saying to send us all the email we couldn't stand to get. I've recently had increasing emails upwards of 200-300 a week not to mention all the added spam. I'm going bonkers with all of this! Ahhhh!
