Sunday is the 10th Anniversary of 911, so

MY QUESTION IS:
Where or  what were you doing when the Twin Towwers were hit?
MY ANSWER:
I was having my coffee, checking my email, and watching the Today show.

  1. I had just dropped my kids off at school and headed to Meijer's to get some groceries. My youngest was still a baby. I can remember him sitting in the cart at Meijer's as I watched the news unfold on all of the televisions at the store. I remember just wanting to hurry and get home and be with my family. My husband is a firefighter so it really hit us hard.

  2. I was at work, sitting in the boardroom of one of our clients during a meeting when the door burst open and one of the staff barged in to tell us the WTC had been hit by an airplane. He had it live on his computer at his desk.

A little while later while I was going down the elevator to my own office, someone said the Pentagon had been hit. I just shook my head and thought to myself "Oh no, we are at war"

I couldn't concentrate at all that day and when I heard that orders had been given to shoot down passenger planes, I cried.

Even though I am Canadian, I have always felt USA/Canada as one. What affects one directly impacts the other no matter what others may think or say. Very sad although I am proud of how we Canadians filled our homes with so many displaced travelers as airplanes who could not enter the USA landed here.

A life and world changing day for all.

  3. At the time, I had a scrapbooking business. So I was packing orders to be mailed and had the tv on in the background. When they broke in with news that a plane had hit the first tower, it really didn't register with me. I guess in the back of my mind, I was just thinking it was an accident. I didn't pay much attention until the second tower was hit. Then I was glued to the tv for the rest of the day like the rest of the country.

  4. i was on the way to college…
I listened to the news on the way to work…
then, we got there and were told to go home (we were in the financial district of atlanta and everyone was worried)

  5. I was picking up after the kids left for school. My husband was mowing the lawn. My friend called me and asked if I heard a plane crashed into the Twin Towers. I immediately turned on the TV, saw what was happening, and went to get my husband. We sat in front of the TV in shock as the events unfolded.

  6. I was asleep because I worked from 3pm till midnight. The secretary from our church called a little after the first plane crashed to see if we had heard. I turned on the tv and my husband and I couldn't believe what we were seeing. Later I called work to see if they were closing (I worked for a government contracted business and was worried they had targeted us too0. They didn't close, but they had the PA system on the news all night so we could follow what was going on.

  7. My in-laws were visiting and I was chatting with them. Our next door neighbor came to the door to tell us the news.

  8. I was at home watching a movie on my day off from the airport. I was working for American Airlines at the time. After two days off going back to work I could feel the emotional tension in the airport. It was horrible but everyone was feeling it.

  9. I came home from work (mornings only) and it was about 2.30pm here in England. Watched the news from the BBC.

  10. i was asleep and a friend called me. I turned the TV on just in time to see the second plane hit the towers.

All I could think, while watching the second plane, turn and descend before it hit the tower, what a lousy pilot the guy flying the plane was. (He should have added power and pulled the nose up.) I think it was my way of dealing with what was happening…

  11. I was at home watching the Fox news drinking a cup of coffee. I was watching the first building burn and I thought I was watching a movie so I checked the channel, and then the second tower was hit, and my heart dropped. I didn't know what to do or what I was feeling. All know I had to get to work, and I had to pass O'Hare Airport, and actually I was scared too, but all was grounded, and it was creepy! I couldn't stop listening to the radio or TV for two weeks. I think I should stop now. Take care.

  12. I was passing meds at a Nursing Home I was working at, at the time. Every time I went to a patients room they all had their TV's on the same channel. So I was able to pass meds and keep up with the tragedy.

  13. I was lying in bed suffering from morning sickness. I remember my husband was supposed to work a flight that morning and I couldn't reach him. I was so worried!
