Monday Memes

Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading
This week’s question:
Would you say that you read about the same amount now as when you were younger? More? Less? Why?
My answer:
This took some time for me to answer and post since it was such a long time ago lol.
I definitely read less now but wish I read like I did.  I remember reading a book in a day, which meant I could read up to 5-7 books a week.  Why?  No responsibility,  no worries, no distractions and better eyesight.  This year has been awful in the number of books I have read.  Here it is the end of October and I read 34 books, 34 books!!!  That is embarrassing for a self proclaimed avid book reader.  That number should at least be approximately at 70.  But real life was quite intrusive on my reading time.  So I am anxiously waiting for 2012 and am already stalking the blog, A Novel Challenge.

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of A girl and her books and is now on tour.

According to Marcia, “Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists

  1. I think you did well with 34 books, as you said, you have real life issues to deal with this year. I must say I do a lot more reading now that I am retired.

  2. 34 books is great, considering the fact that you don't have as much time as you did before. Personally,I read much more now than I did when I was younger. 🙂

  3. I think 34 books is great especially considering all you have had to deal with this year. I am loving the cover on The Story Plant although I like the snow on the cover and not in my yard!

  4. A book a day! at my best, I never read that.
and remember, since most people barely read a book a year, 30+ puts you so, so far above average!

  5. Stopping by to wave back! My reading pace seems to have slowed down since I got bifocals in the late summer. (What's up with that? My parents both had glasses way earlier in life than I did and didn't have to have the darn things till they were in their 50s.) My eyes get tired much too soon.
