APRIL 14th to APRIL 28th, 2012
THE LIFEBOAT
by CHARLOTTE ROGAN
SYNOPSIS:
Grace Winter, 22, is both a newlywed and a widow. She is also on trial for her life.
In the summer of 1914, the elegant ocean liner carrying her and her husband Henry across the Atlantic suffers a mysterious explosion. Setting aside his own safety, Henry secures Grace a place in a lifeboat, which the survivors quickly realize is over capacity. For any to live, some must die.
As the castaways battle the elements, and each other, Grace recollects the unorthodox way she and Henry met, and the new life of privilege she thought she’d found. Will she pay any price to keep it?
The Lifeboat is a page-turning novel of hard choices and survival, narrated by a woman as unforgettable and complex as the events she describes.

Oh my gosh! I read a review on this yesterday and today when I seen you were giving it away I rushed over!
What would I do in that situation? TOUGH question. Do I feel like I should live while others die? No… but do I want to live? Yes.
I’ve been hearing good things about this one.
I think I would be experiencing all kinds of conflicting emotions if I were in this situation. Desperation, hope, fear, etc.
Would I be able to survive, yes. At least I hope so.
Emotions would be fear, but I would have to survive.
Probably I would not survive, I cannot swim and would sink.
I would be very, very afraid that I would not survive. I can’t swim.
WHAT EMOTIONS DO YOU
THINK YOU WOULD BE FEELING IN THIS SITUATION?
FRIGHT!
DO YOU THINK YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO SURVIVE?
Other people have survived this, so I could, too.
To all the people who say they wouldn’t survive because they can’t swim: doesn’t matter. Even if you could swim, so what? No one could swim to shore; sharks would get them first.
An overwhelming sense of fear. I think that emotion would initially block out all others for me.
Fear, anxiety, determination to survive. I would hope I would be able to survive. Not a good swimmer but I can swim.

I would feel hopeless
I would try to survive but I’m not that strong of a person physically and emotionally.
i am a surviver with god i can do the impossible. i likly would be
feeling frustrated, and trapped an hopeless. until i got my head together. try to always make the most an best of any situation
I’m thinking that I’m probably fish food.
I think I would need to be in better shape.
I would experience terror. I cannot swim either.

I know I have the Lord on my side and with Him I can survive anything!
I would be quite frightened, but I think my survival instinct would kick in.

i would feel lost and in a daze i probably couldn’t get my self to believe what just happened
I’m a new email follower 🙂
and, THANK YOU for this terrific giveaway, I’ve so been wanting to read The Lifeboat!!
Anyway, omg … at first my emotion would be pure, unadulterated terror/panic, which would then give way to despair :O
I’d hate to be in that situation, but darn it … I STILL want to read about it 😀
I think my will to survive would kick in and I would do whatever it took to stay alive.
I’d be petrified but would do what I could to survive
Yes, yes, yes! I would survive! If I will it to happen, it will happen. I would be scared, but would use that in a positive way.
feeling of helplessness i like to be in control and this would not be a situation i could control
don’t know if i’d survive
I would be so scared but I think I would survive.
I think anxiety would win me over and I would totally freak out

I would overwhelmed especially with fear but I would survivie
Scared, disbelief, terror…I don’t think I could say whether I would survive because I have never been put in that position before, but I would like to think I would!
