Monday Memes

Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading

Today’s question:
Do you read magazines? If so, which ones? If not, why not?

My response:
If I happen to be sitting in a doctor’s waiting room and a cover catches my eye about an article, I may pick it up.  Sometimes my husband gets points from frequent flyer miles, where he can choose a magazine for a free year’s subscription.  Depending on what he decides on, I may pick it up.  But overall I would say I’m not a reader of magazines.  I would rather put the time into reading a book.

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of A girl and her books and is now on tour.
According to Marcia, “Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.”

  1. I’m the opposite to you! I love magazines and usually have one or two on the go. I prefer American magazines to Australian ones though – maybe because it’s more difficult to buy things from the American ones!

  2. Yeah, I subscribe to some magazines, but I don’t know why. I have no time to read them. Looks like some good titles came in the “mail”! How did the engagement/pool party go? I hope well!

We had some talks on Twitter during the read-a-thon about a write-a-thon and I’ve decided to host one either next month or September. It will be for writing of any kind…novels, reviews, stories, articles. If you’re interested, would you mind going to my blog and voting in the poll (top right sidebar)? Thanks!

  3. I tend to gravitate more towards books too. I do subscribe a few magazines, whatever my interest is at the time. It doesn’t mean I read them though . You think I’d learn my lesson. LOL

Your new books look so good! I will have to add them to my wish list.

  4. I really enjoy reading magazines. I have gotten many wonderful subscriptions for free. My favorites are All You and cooking interests, I almost always find something I can use out of them each month.
