Aloha Friday

Hosted by An Island Life

From An Island Life:
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, visit An Island Life answer the question and then post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Now that the political conventions are over,  the TV                       ads abundant, the phone and mail pitches are daily,                                       My questions are:                                                                                                              1.  Do any of the above sway your decision?                                                          2. Do you exercise your right to vote in all elections?

My Answer:
I do try to watch a couple of debates to make                                                                                                                                                                                                               up my mind and do vote 99% of the time.

  1. i wouldn’t mind the ads on tv… but they just get so “low blow” and dirty at times…
the phone calls… well, they really bother me…
as my husband is on a weird schedule… and then what if my son is napping?
they don’t sway my decisions, but the phone calls just irk me more than anything

  2. I watch some of the debates, and always vote in presidential elections. I’ve missed a few of the others. I don’t mind the commercials because I can turn the TV off or switch the channel. The phone calls are what bother me.

  3. I will vote. I did not really have this option (FREELY) in my country.

I did not listen to the ads or watch the conventions. I find them fake and just a put on in hoping to charm the minds.

I’d rather do other research to know what I want to see and whom to vote for.

    Aloha 🙂

  4. Politics just doesn’t jive in our house UNLESS there’s someone we really like or someone we really don’t want in office. I’m the only that votes, Hubby doesn’t vote he just doesn’t have the time or the drive too. Shameful I know, but it’s the old lead the horse to water bit but you can’t make him drink it, but you can bet your sweet…. I’ll be voting this year and him too if I can drag him along. Have a great weekend honey and thanks for dropping by.

  5. We watched all of the convention of our party and bits and pieces of the other convention. We’ll watch all the debates but ignore the ads and phone calls. We know who we’re voting for. We always exercise our right to vote and hope everyone else does too. 😉

  6. I do watch some of the debates but I absolutely despise the hate ads that are on TV with each candidate exaggerating the faults of the others. As a woman, I vote in every election we have, I have to honor those brave women who blazed the trail right to the voting booths for us not so long ago and I also like to add in my two cents, whatever its worth.

BTW, I live in Canada and watch the USA elections just as closely as our own

    Have a great Weekend!

  7. I ALWAYS vote and think everyone should (seriously, you are doing no one any favors by not voting- vote for Roseanne Barr if you have to). I usually know who I am voting for before the debates, but i do watch them and can be swayed to change my vote.
I live in Ohio and the tv ads are crazy ridiculous. As are the nightly robo/poll phone calls. I admit that I do like living in a swing state because it’s nice to think my vote will matter.
