  1. Hi Cheryl – The synopsis is one of the briefest I’ve seen in awhile, And that brief intro to the mystery is exactly what tempts me to read this book!

  2. The man evades the checkpoint surely thinking that he can control his destiny. But the very act of asserting control lead to his demise. This sounds like an exploration of the efficacy of free will and the control we really have over our lives. And it is explored through the crime genre–exactly where victims and perpetrators live and die. Sounds great.

  3. I love mystery novels, and I’m familiar with Joel Hoffman’s wonderful nonfiction work, so I’m looking forward to reading this.

  4. I would like to read this book because it sounds really good, and mysteries are my favorite books to read. Thanks for this chance to win a copy.
