Counting down for 2010 !!!!!!! I would like to wish all a very Happy and Healthy New Year !!!!  My New Year’s resolutions are to meet more book bloggers….they are definitely the nicest people ever,  less TV, more reading, and to try and finish all the challenges I have signed up for.  I probably should add more to the list but I know I would definitely break them within a few days.  So cutting out ice cream sundaes will stay on the menu (lol)  Happy Reading in 2010

Today’s Question:
It’s the last day of the year, and you know what that means … nostalgia and looking back.

What were your favorite books of the year? (Books that were new to you in 2009, if not necessarily published this year.)

My answer….I read a lot of good books this year but “The Left Behind Series” has got be be my all time favorite.  My family was thrilled when I finished all 13 books because every single spare second that I had, the books would be in my hands.  I would become so engrossed in the reading of each book to the point where I would lose track of time and forget about feeding them (lol)

As 2009 comes to a close and a new year is around the corner, I have been reflecting on this year.  My family has had to deal with a lot of  tough issues, that is life and what is important is how we deal with and learn from them but with the help from above we have made it through.   I am closing that chapter and keeping the chapters that were the good ones in 2009.  My oldest son getting a fantastic job in his field, my youngest son moving (even though that was a little hard on me) out of state where his heart has taken him.  I am very thankful for the love that our family and friends embraced us with during the trying times, being lucky enough to have them in our lives.  And for me, stumbling onto a book blog.  To all the new friends I have made that have the same level for the love of books and who I can discuss and share with.  So many of you to thank…where I would visit, read the posts and admire your blogs but not know about following.  For giving me the incentive to try and create a page as my “personal journal” and then taking it to a level that has amazed me.  Special thanks to those of you for encouraging me, being patient and helpful when I had blog/computer questions and who gave me the courage to be put on the “requested reviews” list. Thank you ( in no particular order) Vicki from Reading At The Beach, Lori from Lori’s Reading Corner, J.Kaye at J.Kaye’s Book Blog and Karen at Bookin’ With Bingo.  And special thanks to those who have joined on as followers of my blog.  I will always post with you in mind so that you will visit often. And to 2010,  my goals are meeting more nice people, coming close and maybe even hitting the 100+ challenge and to where ever this blog takes me.  Thank you all.

*What are you currently reading?
Most Likely To Die by Lisa Jackson (a must read for suspense lovers)
*What did you recently finish reading?
Crossing The Bridge by Michael Baron (excellent–gave it a 5)
*What do you think you’ll read next?
??  Challenges will be starting…so many choices.  It will also depend if any requested reviews come in the mail.

Talk & Thoughts Free Avatars
I am getting excited and counting down for the 2010 challenges to begin.  As a newbie in book blogging and loving every minute of it, this will be my first year for challenges and know that it won’t be my last.  Is everyone else looking forward to the challenges this year?  Which ones have you signed up for?  Also since this will be a new year my blog is going to get updated too.  I am learning so much and since my blog as reached levels that I didn’t dream it would when I started my “personal journal”, there are items I feel it needed.  I hope you all will like the new look and features…..Stay tuned…..

Teaser Tuesday hosted by Should Be Reading

Photobucket

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

 Here is mine:
No one had said a word when fifteen years had passed, but now, on the eve of the closure of St. Elizabeth’s, the class of ’86 was going to meet one more time.
For some, it would be the last.
