From Danielle’s blog:
We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.
This week’s question:  What’s one activity you’re looking forward to or that you’ve already done this summer?

First a caveat about Italian families if you aren’t familiar.  Close friends are considered family.  And in 3 weeks, there is a wedding, my bff’s son.  I met her when our oldest sons started HS together and both families became very close and have been friends ever since.  My oldest son, Paul, is in the wedding party, and my youngest son, Mark is coming home for the wedding and staying for the week.  We haven’t seen Mark since March so we are definitely looking forward to that.

However, last week, the Groom-to-be severely injured his arm, which has resulted in the need for major surgery asap, which is scheduled for this week, 2 weeks before the wedding.  He will be in complete immobilization for the day of the wedding.  They had plans to go to Hawaii on their honeymoon, which they have decided to cancel.  I am so upset for the kids.  Can you imagine?  Planning for a year, the gown, pictures, the venue, the band, etc etc and then this.  And of course, it’s his right hand so the poor kid is worried as to how will he put the ring on his bride, or how will he shake hands, or even dance with his new wife and Mom.  My bff and I, over this past year, have talked about all the tears we will shed, for happiness and for seeing these boys grow into men, and then this.
But it will still be a beautiful wedding.  And the important thing is that they are entering into this marriage for all the right reasons and the vows they declare before God, will be taken seriously.  And the best part, both our families will be together to celebrate this union.  Three weeks and counting!!

This week’s question: At this very moment, which song makes your toes tap?

I’m probably going to show my age on this one but here goes.  I enjoy the music from the 70s/80s, what they called “disco”.  To me, it was music that did just what the question asks, it got your feet tapping, where you wanted to get up and dance, even to this day.  And I think it’s funny when my kids enjoy some of the music that my husband and I enjoyed “in our time”.
My oldest son, Paul who is now 27, a few years back, for his gf’s birthday, bought her tickets for a concert to see 2 bands that were touring together, Chicago (her favorite) and Earth, Wind and Fire (one of his favorites and mine).  When they got home, they were so excited, showing us pictures, telling us all about it and Paul’s words were “by far, the best concert I have ever been to.”.  The tour had been taped live and made into a CD and Paul went right out and bought it and it was watched many times and enjoyed.  A few months later, not knowing, Earth Wind and Fire were touring again but alone and close by, at Mohegan Sun Casino.   For my birthday, Paul and Heather gave me tickets to see them LIVE and Paul was right, the best concert ever!!!
So to answer today’s question it would be any song by Earth Wind and Fire but my favorite would be September.

So what gets your toes tapping?  What music wants to get you moving?

This week’s question:  Who is the person you admire the very most?

Danielle posts the questions for “A Bit Of Me” a week in advance and usually I come up with the answers right away because they are fun questions.  This week was different.  A lot of thought went into this question.  My first thoughts were family members and famous individuals, however, there was also a group of individuals that also came to mind but I didn’t know their names except for maybe 1 or 2.  Not only did I not know their names,   but there are so many of them and again, I have only met 1 or 2 of them.  Who do I admire the most?  The young men and women in our military, who have selflessly given their lives for our freedom.  They have left their families, so that we can enjoy ours.  They are true heroes!!!!

What about you?  Who do you admire most?

When No One Is Watching by Joseph Hayes
Synopsis (back of book): On the eve of announcing his run for Congress, a charismatic Chicago politician causes a deadly accident. Panicked, he frames his best friend, a good-hearted alcoholic, and flees the scene. As one man tries to pick up the pieces of his shattered life, the other embarks on a meteoric rise to political stardom. But when a dogged detective digs deeper into the case, the political superstar must decide just how far he is willing to go to keep his dark secret. Author Joseph combines page-turning suspense with a poignant tale of inspiration and redemption as he asks, is “the greater good” just a lie we tell ourselves to justify the sins we commit when no one is watching?

This week’s question:   What’s your favorite weekend activity?

In the summer, it definitely would revolved around our pool.  If it’s just hubby and I, then it would be a relaxing day, with me reading both by and in the pool and throwing something on the grill to eat.  If family and/or friends stop by, no reading, just enjoying their company, laughing, some frozen drinks and cooking on the grill.

And another one of our favorite weekend activities, which we do year round, would be to get together with our very good friends and play HiLoJack.  Girls against the Guys.  And of course, Girls usually win!!!
and OF COURSE………..

This week’s question:   If you were going to be stuck on a deserted island, which 5 books, movies, people and foods would you take along
This is an easy question for me this week.  And if I am reading it correctly, I think I am to list 5 in each category.
Movies:
None since I’m not a movie person, I would leave that to the rest of the family.
People
carpool

Easy…the husband, 2 sons and their girlfriends.  Their is no one else I would rather be with.  Matter of fact I am already hinting that my Christmas present from the hubby be a family vacation, so being on this island, might be it  lol.

Books
reading book

A little cheating here.  I would bring my Sony EReader since there are lots of tbr books waiting to be read and my Kindle for the same reason plus it has WiFi so in case I run out of books, I can get more.

Food:
Pizza, fruit, ice cream, pasta, and of course………………………………….

…………………………………………..chocolate!!!!!!
