Since I so enjoy the daily memes where you visit other blogs and make more bloggy friends, I am adding Wondrous Words Wednesday hosted by Bermudaonion’s Weblog. This will be my 1st posting. If you want to join in the fun, head over to: http://bermudaonion.wordpress.com/
My word came from Invisible Boy by Cornelia Read
“My guilt is assuaged then.”
Definition:
as·suage (-swj)
tr.v. as·suaged, as·suag·ing, as·suag·es
1. To make (something burdensome or painful) less intense or severe: assuage her grief. See Synonyms at relieve.
2. To satisfy or appease (hunger or thirst, for example).
3. To pacify or calm: assuage their chronic insecurity.
What a great word! I'd have to really think to try to use it, though, because I don't think it will roll off of my tongue. Thanks so much for participating!
Thank you for hosting!! Being a new blogger, and loving every minute of it, especially meeting new book bloggers as I have found them to be the nicest people. Again Thank You.
Welcome to Wondrous Words Wednesday! 🙂
And "assuage" is a neat word.
I see you are going to read Malice. I read that not too long ago and really enjoyed it. Happy reading.
I like assuaged. Glad you joined the hunt for new words. Also, welcome to the fun adventure of blogging. Beware – it can become addictive.
I like this word too. It is one that I might possibly even use in a conversation.
I was never one for words. My dad always said to me that I ruin the king's english. LOL
Thank you all for stopping by !!!
J.Kaye..I purchased Malice after reading your review..hoping I get a little breather with review requests to read.
Dolly..LOL After emailing each other…I can only imagine what your dad meant LOL
I like Brennan and Jackson too! Love your header or banner. Did u design it? Have a great week.
Thank you for the compliment Joy…so kind of you…I can't remember where I found the picture and had saved as I thought it was so pretty. My original page was a free template but when I decided to take my blog to the next level, I had Casey at Hot Bliggity Blog use it to design my new page. She did a wonderful job setting everything up and helping me set up my new navigation tabs. So she deserves the credit and I was lucky I had saved the picture.
