Aloha Friday (2 of 3)

From An Island Life:
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My Question:

  1. YES! After getting H1N1 last year before I had the shot I am a huge believer. We have asthma and it was horrible how sick I got. Took me months to be able to do things again thanks to my lungs.

  2. NEVER.. The one time I did take it which was in 1990, I ended up sicker than a dog… Everyone in my family was sick except for my infant son…My doctor told me, if I was healthy, there was no point… Since that year, I have not been sick and I worked in the school system which we all know have snot nosed kids..

  3. In the UK only over 60's and those with certain health problems are offered the flu jab.

My boys both have it every year as they are both asthmatics.

  4. I am not a shot person, however, I think this year I will be getting one….I got so sick last year that I don't want to do it again!

  5. I have not gotten it before. I don't think I will. Not sure about my son, he is now in public school.

  6. No – any time I've gotten the flu shot in the past, I've always gotten the flu! When I don't get it, I don't get sick. I'll probably have Princess Nagger get it, though – especially since she just caught a flu bug the other day…the first time for her in all her 7 years!

  7. NO!!! The one time that I did get it I was sicker than ever. I believe the only people that turely need it are those who have weak immune systems, such as babies and the elderly.

  8. Nope, I got one once many years ago, and it gave me the flu so bad it just stuck in my mind I guess, and never got one since.

  9. Never have… that is why I am infested with germaholics in my household. We breed by breathing. I am leery of getting shots since I never recovered from the whole needle syringe experince at the hospital… nurse took blook from the vein in my hand moment… That is another story and I'll let you in on it once i've recovered from the nightmare.
