From Danielle’s blog:
We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.
This Weeks Question:
(Brought to us by Gwen from Chew and Digest Books): Do you have any other hobbies(not necessarily talents) besides reading?

Like all of us, who are members of this fantastic community, reading is definitely #1

My #2 hobby is fairly new, and that is blogging,  I did not even know this world existed a year ago.

And I also find enjoyment and relaxation while doing these:

This Weeks Question:
Who is your favorite male character, in a book or on a TV show/movie? Why?

Read more: http://www.theresabook.com/category/a-bit-of-meme/#ixzz0yYXsnIxA
My Answer:
I am not a tv person unless it is cable news.  I enjoy watching Anderson Cooper and Larry King.  Anderson Cooper appears to be a genuine down to earth and caring person.  I was surprised when I had heard that his mother is a VanderBilt.  I have great respect for him especially when he puts himself in harm’s way for journalism.  As far as Larry King, for interviewing so many famous, infamous and interesting individuals.

And for books…there are so many and it depends on what I am reading.  If there is a male main character that I feel comes to life and I can relate to, then he becomes a favorite.  But one stands out and that is the Alex Cross character in James Patterson’s books.

This Weeks Question: Who is your favorite female character, in a book or on a TV show/movie? Why?

Read more: http://www.theresabook.com/category/a-bit-of-meme/#ixzz0xu1eNXjH
My Answer:
This week’s question is very hard for me to answer.  I have been thinking about it for days (Danielle posts what the question will be in advance).  I am not a big TV or movie person.  The only thing I watch and/or listen to when it comes to TV is one of the 24/7 cable news station.  Yes..I am a cable news junkie!!  As for movies, I would rather read and form the imagery in my mind as if I AM watching a movie.  Female character in a book?   That would be the character in whatever my current book is.  If I can relate to a character at the time of reading, then that’s my favorite character.
Not sure if you learned a little bit more about me with this question, but had to answer it honestly.  What about you?  Any favorite female character?

This Weeks Question:
Do you come from a large or small family and how do you think it influenced your life?

Read more: http://www.theresabook.com/category/a-bit-of-meme/#ixzz0xEJzMDe0
I am really not sure how to answer this one, is it just immediate or does it include extended family, so to cover all basis, I will answer for both.  But my first thought is that I come from a very small family.  This is also a very difficult question for me due to a situation I am presently faced with.
Immediate:  One hubby of 29 yrs and 2 sons (26 and 24).  As of next month, the hubster and I will be empty nesters, with both boys living out of state due to jobs/careers.  🙁
Semi Immediate:  My mom, luckily, is with us and just celebrated her 89th bday.  Her mom. my Nana, lived to be 101.  So there is definitely a long term age gene floating around.  My mom was an only child.  My dad, died when I was 16 and was one of 8 brothers/sisters with only 2 surviving. I have one sister who is 9 1/2 years older than me.  However, the “sisterly/sibling “relationship” is quite different, because my sister has Cerebral Palsy.
It has definitely influenced my life, I knew from an early age that I would be the sole person that would have to take on all  responsibilities one day because there is no one else.  Unfortunately that day came in March of 2009, whereas I was battling my own physical problems, but was left with no choice and it continues to this day.
Now you know “a little bit” more about me.  What about you…small or large family?  Has it influenced your life?

This Weeks Question: If you could travel anywhere in the world for 24 hours, where would you go?
(Logistically, this could be more than one place, so be creative!)

I have been lucky to have traveled to some faraway places.  When in high school (many, many) years ago, I traveled to Europe twice.  My first trip was to Spain and then we took a boat to Africa. Of course, while in Spain, we saw a bull fight, which parts of it were not pleasant to watch.  Africa, the country side was beautiful but then we took a side trip to the Casba and that left a lasting impression on me.  The poverty, the lack of housing and illness, mainly leprosy.
The next year, I traveled to Italy, which was beautiful and rich in heritage.  I went to the Vatican, the Coliseum, Pompeii, shopping in Florence and so much more.
We have also been to the Caribbean 4 times.

So to answer this week’s question, I would love to go back to Italy and visit but as a family vacation with our 2 sons.

But my favorite place to visit, we have been twice and we are hoping to go back after I recuperate fully, is Aruba.  The white sandy beaches, the turquoise waters, the tropical breeze, and the ideal place to relax and read.   We stay at the Aruba Radisson, which is a resort that one doesn’t even have to leave because everything is right on the grounds.  For us, this is the perfect vacation, a little bit of heaven on earth.
Now you know a little bit more about me.  What about you?  Where would you love to be or travel to?
