We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.

This week’s question:   What would your dream job be?

Read more: http://www.theresabook.com/2011/02/a-bit-of-meme-off-to-neverland/#ixzz1EPgLFeSn

Up until this day, I can say that there have been 3 “dream jobs” that I wanted to achieve.  One I did, the 2nd maybe it’s a good thing I didn’t and the 3rd, maybe there is still time.
It wasn’t an easy course but I did graduate an obtain my license to become an RN.  Unfortunately, a high risk in the field is injuries to the back due to lifting.  I was 24 years old when I first injured, ruptured a disc and had my first spinal operation.  I continued working on and off in the field for years in between having my sons until it got to the point where I just couldn’t continue working in that capacity.

Since my 2nd love was books, hubby and I discussed maybe opening up a used book store but that never came to fruition for one reason or another.  And with the unsettling affairs of book stores, maybe it was a good choice that we didn’t.

And now at this point in my life, where I am totally disabled, I would love to do what I am now doing everyday but have it become a “real job”.   Even though this is a hobby for me, I try to use the same work ethics with my blog as when I was working.  I would love to work in some capacity with authors, publishers, publicists, tours, etc etc.   And since, I am disabled, I could make my own hours, it would be the perfect job. Anybody know of any job openings lol?

I’ve wanted to start a meme like this for a long time. It’s “Anything Goes on Saturday”. It’s a chance to choose any topic you want and talk about it on Saturday – it can be about a book, TV show, movie, a recipe or just an update on your week. Whatever you choose.
Topic:  Awards
I think it is such an honor when a peer presents me and my blog an award.  I really do get that “warm and fuzzy feeling” no matter how many I receive.  However, I am finding that the criteria of passing them on takes up quite a bit of computer time, which I already spend too much time at, preparing drafts for Guest Authors, giveaways, etc etc.  I have been taking the liberty of modifying the rules but it is still time consuming.   So my questions today are:  What are your thoughts on awards?  Do you accept them?  Or are you an Award -Free Blog?  If you are, how did you come to that decision and notify your visitors?  Look forward to hearing your thoughts on this subject!!!

This week’s question:  What super-power would you most like to have, and why?

What a fantastic question this week and if only it could become a reality.  I chose that I could survive on no sleep.  It would give me more hours in the day to get all that I wanted to get done.  Plus sleep is what energizes our bodies, which would mean that I would also have the energy to complete tasks.  LOL  off to take a nap lol.

Today’s topic:  Bloggers’ role in the publishing world

When I first started blogging, I thought, which we are, avid readers who share our thoughts on books we have read and have discussions as if we are like one big book club.  But the more I have learned over this past year, I wonder if we play a greater role in the world of authors’ careers, publishing, etc.  Do you feel that we are looked upon as “just bloggers” or are looked upon “with respect” as to what our thoughts are pertaining to books?  Would love to hear your thoughts!!

OR when we took the boys  (they were about 8 & 10) on their firsst flight to Disney World and the Kennedy Space Center
OR when we took the boys on an “adult” family vacation, 3 years ago, their 1st time on a cruise
OR the much needed vacation that we have planned in a couple of months

This week’s topic: STRESS
That 6 letter ugly word.  Everyone has it.  No one is immune.  It comes in all shapes and sizes  But does it ever get to the point where it is so distracting that you can’t stay focused?  You start one project, notice something, start another and continues in this vicious circle until you realize that whatever you WERE able to accomplish, it is full of errors?  Well…lately that has been me.  Any helpful tips that you use to relieve stress when it gets to that level?  What do you do to stay focused without your mind off in a thousand different directions?  I know this is not unusual, stress goes along with life but lately I feel my mind is all over the place, now if only my body would catch up!!

This week’s question:  What’s your favorite color? Or maybe you have multiple favorites, which ones? Be creative with how you tell us if you have time.
As far as my wardrobe, it consists mainly of black, can’t go wrong and easy to accessorize.  The rest is jeans and colorful tops.

Little Black Dress
And for our house, we decorate in the warm tones, or country like/colonial

Today’s Topic:  Rereading Books
I have seen where many bloggers enjoy rereading books.  Have you?  I never have and quite honestly not sure if I understand why.  There are so many books just waiting to be read, I know that I have such an extensive personal tbr bucket list (notably named because of my age) I don’t think I will ever be able to read them all.  I was talking with Julie from Reading Without Restraint about this the other night on the phone.  I read the first 4 books of the Women’s Murder Club by James Patterson many, many years ago and can’t remember what they were about and recently have won some of the latest in the series.  I have some GC so was thinking I would purchase the earlier ones and start from the beginning.  But this will be the first time I have ever reread a book.
Would love to hear your thoughts on rereading books.  Do you?  Is it as enjoyable knowing how the story plays out?  What makes you want to reread a book?  Or do you feel that there are too many other books to be read?

First, a BIG, a really BIG THANK YOU has to go out to Danielle.  She usually asks for a favorite, as in one, as you can see above.  However, I think, due to my hysterics in the past when she would ask for a favorite, as in pick one, she has now added more than one lol.

Today’s Topic:  Domains
Lately I have seen many articles and bloggers mentioning that they have changed their URL and purchased a domain.  So I am wondering and my questions for today are:  What are the advantages of having a domain?  If you have purchased one, was it hard to transfer from what you had?  Were there are lot of glitches?  What site did you purchase yours from?  Do you recommend buying a domain?  What are the pros and cons of having a domain?
