Death In Tranquility
by Sharon Linnéa
February 1-28, 2021 Tour
No one talks to the cops. Everyone talks to the bartender. And Avalon Nash is one hell of a bartender.
Avalon is on the run from her life in Los Angeles. Having a drink while waiting to change trains in the former Olympic town of Tranquility, New York, she discovers the freshly murdered bartender at MacTavish’s. A bartender herself, she’s offered the position with the warning he wasn’t the first MacTavish’s bartender to meet a violent end.
Avalon’s superpower is collecting people’s stories, and she’s soon embroiled in the lives of artists, politicians, ghost hunters and descendants of Old Hollywood.
Can Avalon outrun the ghosts of her past, catch the ghosts of Tranquility’s past and outsmart a murderer?
The first book in the Bartender’s Guide to Murder series offers chills, laughs, and 30 of the best drink recipes ever imbibed.

10 Things the Reader Doesn’t (Yet) Know about Avalon Nash
+ Avalon’s favorite bird is the bluebird.
+ She’s a bartender but she actually doesn’t drink very much
+ She’s a natural public speaker, perhaps because she doesn’t care about it so it doesn’t make her nervous. Could also be because her mom is an actor/comedian and her dad is a preacher
+ Her dad used to read her before bed before he left. She has a memory of only one book but she sometimes recites it to herself.
+ Her favorite song with her dad was You Are My Sunshine. They shortened the sentiment to its initials–“YAMS”—and they used that as a greeting.
+ She now hates her father and misses him very much.
+ If she could be an animal, she’d choose to be a dolphin because they’re brilliant and they can “fly swim” or an otter because otters love to play and to annoy beavers who are type A workers
+ Her friend Often wrote a song about her before he died. Often’s stepbrother, who is in a famous band, recorded it and it became the band’s biggest hit. Neither the stepbrother nor Avalon knows the song is about her.
+ She has synesthesia and sees numbers and some words as having specific colors.
+ She loves fishing but hates catching fish.
