From Danielle’s blog:
We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.
This week’s question:  Name one (or two or three) things you miss about being a child.

Danielle has asked the perfect question, at least for me at this time of my life, which makes it so very easy to answer.  And I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way.  What do I miss most?  The carefree, innocence, worry free, no responsibility, no stress and feeling and knowing that you are unconditionally loved and cared for each and every day.

When I think back, I guess there were some of the above, but if only we knew how minor they would be compared to being an adult.  Cleaning our rooms, doing school work, staying up a little later than normal, wishing we could play outside longer than when the street lights came on or even if in the summer if we could get ice cream from the Mr. Softee Ice Cream Truck.  I know…I’m showing my age…but wouldn’t it be fun to have those feelings again?  What about you?  What do you miss?

This week’s question:  What outdoor activities do you like to do?
Read more: http://www.theresabook.com/2011/06/a-bit-of-meme-a-wiggle-of-the-nose/#ixzz1OxiZSMwq

Because of all (5) the back operations, I am quite limited in what activities I am physically capable of doing.  Before the last 2 operations I used to love to plant in both our front and back gardens.  I enjoyed picking out different perennials that would bloom at different times and then adding annuals in between so there was always color.  My hubby has now taken over that chore and plants annuals every year.  Ant the other activity that I can do, and enjoy, is to sit in my, as I call it, reading float, and read and relax floating around in our pool.   What outdoor activities do you enjoy?  Do you do outdoor activities year round or only certain times of the year?

This week’s question:  If you could have 3 wishes granted, what would they be?
Read more: http://www.theresabook.com/category/a-bit-of-meme/#ixzz1OK1F7pu4

My 3 wishes are love, health and happiness for my loved ones and myself.  I know it may be corny, but at this juncture in my life, I feel that having these are so important. Fourth would be financial stability.  Over the past year or so, due to real life instances some being traumatic, I have been reflecting a lot on my life and how fast it has gone by.  What is important and what isn’t.  What I did right and what I didn’t.  And what I want out of the rest of my life.  Even though I have two out of the three, health being an issue, it could be worse.  What about you?  What are your 3 wishes?

This week’s question: What’s your earliest memory?

I don’t know how Danielle does it.  She comes up with great questions week after week.  However, today’s question has taxed my brain and I will probably need a nap after this since it was soooooo long ago lol.
I think my earliest and most vivid memories were of our family day trips.  Not your usual day trips, at least, I don’t think so.  My dad, before I was born, was a race car driver, so he loved to be behind the wheel of a car.  Now you have to remember, this is back 50 years, when highways weren’t what they are today.  Also that we live in RI.  He would announce on a Saturday night, that the next day we were going to visit relatives in NY.  No big deal, right?  Except, there would be 7 of us in the car, 6 adults and me.  Not too comfortable.  I usually ended up, somehow, sitting on the backseat floor.  Back and forth in a day.  Probably 10 hours on the road, 5 hours visiting.  I can remember to this day how uncomfortable I was in the car.  And then, he decided we were going on a “family vacation” and he was driving us to Canada!!!!!  NY trips became a breeze lol.
I have mentioned before that I lost my Dad when I was 16, but he left me with so many memories in the short time that I had him.

This week’s question:
Because BEA is happening I’m breaking the “no book rule” and asking you to share your top 3 books you are looking forward to reading in the coming year.
Read more: http://www.theresabook.com/2011/05/a-bit-of-meme-three-truths-and-one-lie/#ixzz1MzHSmeRm
First I hope that everyone that was able to attend the BEA, are having a really fun time, meeting bloggers, authors, publishers and publicists that they speak to everyday from behind a screen and are now getting to see face to face.  I can’t wait to hear about their experiences.    When I heard about this event last year, I was a newbie but thought that if I was still having the fun and enjoying this new world that I had found, I may consider attending this year.  But then the surgery, and then the complications and limitations from the spinal procedures, and knew, that I would not be able to go.  I would never be able to walk the distances or stand the length of time that I have read that is needed.  Maybe some day!!!  Putting that goal on my Bucket List!!

  OK…back to today’s meme question:
Another tough question from Danielle.  I guess the top three shelves of my bookcase isn’t what she means when she asks “share your top 3 books”.   But that is exactly what I wish I could read.
But I will play along with the rules as best I can lol.  I have 2 in my possession and one I know is in the works but not sure of when it will be published or even the title.

What about you?  Can you name your 3 top books?  It’s a hard question, isn’t it? Hmmm….. thinking that today’s question is going to add to our ever growing tbr lists!!!
