Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Abby knew what he meant, and she managed a smile. She wouldn’t tell him what she thought  the the worst wouldn’t be over until her family was found.

Almost three hours ago, Jane left her house with a nervous stomach but a determined heart to seek out and find the one person she never knews existed.

My current read is Leaving The Hall Light On by Madeline Sharples.  A memoir of a parent’s journey through her son’s mental illness, sucicide and recovery.

Paul’s sucicid was not a cry for help. He chose a time when Madeline and I would be reliably asleep. He quietly entered his bathroom and locked the door behind him.  (page 122)

The box had been sealed with clear packing tape. She’d noted that the label was printed with her name and address, but not in the sender’s information. That was curious, but she didn’t think too much of it as she split the tape, folded back the flaps, and lifted out the gift-wrappd box inside.
She never could have prepared herself for the hideous surprise it contained.

This is more than a couple of sentences but wanted to share what grabbed me from the Prologue:

For this October, certain threads would fray and certain binds would loosen. Unspoken words woud be uttered at last while things that needed to be said would be withheld. Tradition would be honored and the past would be rejected. One heart would beat for another’s for the first time, while one heart would stop beating forever. And a message would be delivered that was essential to all who heard it.
