Hosted by Danielle at There’s A Book From Danielle’s blog:

We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.

This week’s question:  What super-power would you most like to have, and why?

What a fantastic question this week and if only it could become a reality.  I chose that I could survive on no sleep.  It would give me more hours in the day to get all that I wanted to get done.  Plus sleep is what energizes our bodies, which would mean that I would also have the energy to complete tasks.  LOL  off to take a nap lol.

I’ve wanted to start a meme like this for a long time. It’s “Anything Goes on Saturday”. It’s a chance to choose any topic you want and talk about it on Saturday – it can be about a book, TV show, movie, a recipe or just an update on your week. Whatever you choose.

Today’s topic:  Bloggers’ role in the publishing world

When I first started blogging, I thought, which we are, avid readers who share our thoughts on books we have read and have discussions as if we are like one big book club.  But the more I have learned over this past year, I wonder if we play a greater role in the world of authors’ careers, publishing, etc.  Do you feel that we are looked upon as “just bloggers” or are looked upon “with respect” as to what our thoughts are pertaining to books?  Would love to hear your thoughts!!

Review "So Close The Hand Of Death" by J.T. Ellison

SO CLOSE THE HAND OF DEATH by J.T. Ellison

Published by Harlequin Mira Books
ISBN 9780778329435
I received an ARC-EBook Bound galley Edition from NetGalley, at no cost to me, for my honest opinion.
Synopsis (borrowed from NetGalley): TALENT BORROWS. GENIUS STEALS. EVIL DELEGATES.
It’s a hideous echo of a violent past. Across America, murders are being committed with all the twisted hallmarks of the Boston Strangler, the Zodiac Killer and Son of Sam. The media frenzy explodes and Nashville homicide lieutenant Taylor Jackson knows instantly that The Pretender is back…and he’s got helpers.
As The Pretender’s disciples perpetrate their sick homages—stretching police and the FBI dangerously thin—Taylor tries desperately to prepare for their inevitable showdown. And she must do it alone. To be close to her is to be in mortal danger, and she won’t risk losing anyone she loves. But the isolation, the self-doubt and the rising body count are taking their toll—she’s beside herself and ready to snap.
The brilliant psychopath who both adores and despises her is drawing close. Close enough to touch…
My Thoughts and Opinion: After reading the synopsis, my thinking was this was a good match for me, and even more so with the main character being a female. Knowing that I was not completely focused, and it is only fair to give the author and her work my undivided attention, I reread from the beginning of the book three times. However, on the third time and reading 140 pages, I felt that I wasn’t completely pulled into the storyline. There were hints of the premise, but nothing solid that made me want to really run back and pick up the book. Also there was a lot of interaction between the main character and her SO, that appeared to be important to the plot but was fluffed over. There were other scenes, and this is my opinion only, that were a far stretch from reality. I am putting this book in the DNF pile but am not saying that someday it may be moved back to my tbr pile.

THURSDAY

This week’s question:
What’s the most romantic book you’ve ever read?

(Mind you, I don’t mean the hard-core stuff you hide in plain wrappers under your mattress. I mean True Love, Romance, deeply emotional, heart-tugging, and all that stuff.)
And, secondly, did you like it? Is it your usual kind of reading, or did it take you by surprise?
My answer:
After reading the question, the first book that came to mind was The Ring by Danielle Steel, which a friend had recommended while we were in HS.  Even back then, I was into the suspense/mystery genre (I truly think I am a closet CSI, PI adrenelin rush agent, etc wanna be because I know I wouldn’t be able to work in that field because I am afraid of my own shadow).  I remember that I couldn’t put the book down and read it in just a couple of days. It was because of that book that hooked me into reading her novels.

From Lori’s site:
It struck me recently how much time I spend on this computer every day, blogging, chatting or playing games on Facebook, emailing friends and relatives, making cards and calendars, etc. etc. etc.
We depend on each other for book reviews, giveaways, encouragement, friendship, but how well do we really know each other?
So that is what this meme is all about, getting to know each other.

1. Do you take a daily multi-vitamin or supplement?
I probably should but don’t
vitamins

2. You’re snacking – popcorn – pretzels – potato chips or peanuts?

3. Waffles, Pancakes or French Toast?
