Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about movies based on books…
What happens when you see a movie based on a book/story, especially one you’ve not read? Do you feel the need to track it down and read it?
Today’s question is an easy one for me. I am not a “movie” person. It is only on a rare occasion that I watch a movie. And on those rare occassions, it is not one based on a book. Its something that my hubby wants to watch and trust me, it wouldn’t have anything to do with a book. I would rather read and use my own imagination than watching a movie.

I love both books and movies, but I agree with you in that the imagination is often much better!

I like movies…but I love books.
I will read a book based on a movie I liked, but seeing a movie based on a book I loved is, in my opinion, asking to often be disappointed.
So the rare times that I am watching tv, if I see a movie preview that interests me, I skip the movie and read the book. I gave up on reading the book and then watching the movie, because I was always disappointed. The books are just always better!
I lurve movies and books. However it takes a heck of a film to get me to the cinema but I'm partial to them both.
Cheers for you know what and I'm going to take you up on that 😀
I prefer books over movies. At times it is interesting to see what was done to a book to make it into a movie.
I do like movies, but it is rare that I will track down the book it's based on. I especially don't like to see a movie when I've already read the book because it's disappointing most of the time.
Thanks for allowing me to feature you at my blog today. Have a lovely week!

In my experience and other readers I've talked with – movies rarely have the impact or power as actually reading the same tale in a book. Reading gives you a personalized experience of interacting with the characters and experiencing the earthiness and realness of what's being read that can't be gotten sitting in front of a screen. Reading can take you where the best vacation can't. Here's to libraries.
