Have you ever read a book that inspired you to take up a cause? What book was it, and what is/was the cause?
My answer:
What a great question. The only book that came to mind was The Left Behind Series. I have always had a deep belief of my religion. I’m not the type to discuss it unless asked, preach about it, ring door bells, etc etc., but when I read this series , a fictional interpretation of The Revelations from The Bible and written by 2 pastors, I have recommended it to so many people. The reason being that these books were written in the late 1990s and I read them approximately 5 years ago, all 13 of them. and in a very short time. I want to share these books with others, for them to make decisions in their own lives.
Enjoy your new books, Cheryl! The Left Behind series grabbed me at the time too. I couldn't read them fast enough but I didn't get as far as you. I think I stopped at #9. Have a great week!
I read the LEFT BEHIND series in it's entirety too. Several years ago. It was indeed powerful. Enjoy your new books. I read NEVER WAVE GOODBYE last year. Very, very scary.
OK, be ready Cheryl, you are going to learn something new about me today. hee, hee. I am one of the bell ringers, yes I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. But on my Reading Blog, I only post about the things I read for fun and entertainment. I do a lot of serious reading and studying throughout the week, pertaining to the Bible, and any causes I take part in would be centered around it's teachings. But as I said, my blogs are just for fun and entertainment.
Thanks for the shout out Cheryl!! I really missed you and the whole book blogging community! It's good to be back!
I read The Left Behind and LOVED it! It will always be my favorite series! I just finished reading Never Wave Goodbye and plan on posting my review this week. Hope you love it as much as I did!
I can agree that I have been inspired by some books…but not enough perhaps to actually do something. Can't say I am totally proud of that in a way.
