From Danielle’s blog:
We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.
This week’s question:  Would you bungee jump, go hang gliding, jump out of a plane, etc? Which one and why? If not, how come?

When I saw today’s question, two words came to mind………NO WAY.  I have such a fear of heights.  I even have trouble driving over bridges.  I remember when we took the boys to the water parks at Disney World in Florida and Busch Gardens in Virginia, I was more frightened of climbing the rickety steps to get to the top of the platform than the actual ride.  This is a calmer example of what I am like when it comes to heights…I am such a WIMP!!!

From Yvonne’s site:
I’ve wanted to start a meme like this for a long time. It’s “Anything Goes on Saturday”. It’s a chance to choose any topic you want and talk about it on Saturday – it can be about a book, TV show, movie, a recipe or just an update on your week. Whatever you choose.
Today’s Topic:  Kindles
Well…I took the plunge.  I have been saving my GC and purchased a Kindle.  However, it’s been a hectic week in the “real life” department and haven’t even had a chance to set it up and play with it.  Hubby had surprised me last year, when we found out that I needed the 2 back operations, with a Sony EReader (he is a big fan of Sony products).  I like it but it does have some negative features, a big one being the battery life.  Hoping by this weekend, I will have it up and running.
So my question today is to those that own a Kindle….any tips, tricks, your thoughts, the positives and negatives you have found with your Kindle.

TOYS

by JAMES PATTERSON & NEIL McMAHON
SYNOPSIS:
James Bond and Jason Bourne have just been topped! A battle for the world is set into unstoppable motion and Hays Baker is the only one who can save it. Hays Baker and his wife Lizbeth possess super-human strength, extraordinary intelligence, stunning looks, a sex life to die for, and two beautiful children. Of course they do–they’re Elites, endowed at birth with the very best that the world can offer. The only problem in their perfect world: humans and their toys!

The one with the most toys–dies
The top operative for the Agency of Change, Hays has just won the fiercest battle of his career. He has been praised by the President, and is a national hero. But before he can savor his triumph, he receives an unbelievable shock that overturns everything he thought was true. Suddenly Hays is on the other side of the gun, forced to leave his perfect family and fight for his life.
Now a hunted fugitive, Hays is thrown into a life he never dreamed possible–fighting to save humans everywhere from extinction. He enlists all of his training to uncover the truth that will save millions of lives–maybe even his own. James Patterson’s Toys is a thriller on a hyper plane–with a hero who rivals both James Bond and Jason Bourne.

This week’s question:
Series? Or Stand-alone books?
My Answer:
Mainly Stand-alone.  Series books would depend on the author and subject matter.  An example is The Women’s Murder Club by James Patterson.  I started reading this series many, many years ago and quite frankly, don’t remember much about them.  And over this past year, have won 3-4 of the latest ones.  I have been debating if I should purchase the first 4-5 of the series and reread, however, I came across a blogger’s review of one in the series and it wasn’t a favorable reveiew.  So should I spend the money or try reading the ones I have as Stand-alones?  Not sure.  Authors that can write books that are intended as a series, but can pull in the previous novel(s) and be read as a Stand-Alone, in my opinion, is pure talent.

Hosted by Lori from Dollycas’s Thoughts

From Lori’s site:
It struck me recently how much time I spend on this computer every day, blogging, chatting or playing games on Facebook, emailing friends and relatives, making cards and calendars, etc. etc. etc.
We depend on each other for book reviews, giveaways, encouragement, friendship, but how well do we really know each other?
So that is what this meme is all about, getting to know each other.

WEEK 30 QUESTIONS

1. Have you ever traveled outside of the United States?
Yes, I have been very fortunate to have had the chance to have traveled.  When I was a child, we went on a family vacation to Canada.  While in High School, I travelled to Spain, Africa and Italy.  As an adult, I have visited Aruba and Nassau.
2. If you could pack up today on a vacation and money was no issue where would you go?
If you follow this blog, you know my favorite destination would be Aruba but I would also love to go back to Italy as a family vacation.
3. Is there somewhere in the United States that you have never been that you would like to visit?
Hawaii, I heard it is absolutely beautiful.  And then I would say I would like to visit whatever states the blogging friends, I have met over this past year, so I could spend time with them in real life instead of our virtual Sunday gab sessions.

And the winner is……
