From An Island Life:
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, visit An Island Life answer the question and then post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My Question:
Do you draft your posts ahead of time?
My Answer:
Yes..I try to do a week in advance and then just
plug in the items for those that need daily updates.

The Hop lasts Friday-Monday every week, so if you don’t have time to Hop today, come back later and join the fun! This is a weekly event! And stop back throughout the weekend to see all the new blogs that are added! We get over 200 links every week!!
Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.
If you start following someone through the Hop, leave a comment on their blog to let them know! Stop back during the week to see other blogs that are added! And, most importantly, the idea is to HAVE FUN!!

This week’s question’s”
“If I gave you £50 (or $80) and sent you into a bookshop right now, what would be in your basket when you finally staggered to the till?”

My Answer:
Mystery/Suspense books that are on my personal tbr bucket list, and there are many, either PB or EBook editions and a few new book marks.  Unfortunately with the cost of books, if I wanted the newest released books, I would probably only be able to purchase 3 HC.  So to get more for the money, I would go with the newest released PB.

This week’s question:
Do you multi-task when you read? Do other things like stirring things on the stove, brushing your teeth, watching television, knitting, walking, et cetera?
Or is it just me, and you sit and do nothing but focus on what you’re reading?
(Or, if you do both, why, when, and which do you prefer?)
My answer:
Me….. Multitask?  Is this a trick question? I’m lucky that I can read and turn the pages at the same time lol.
Seriously, the only thing I can do is have the TV on, tuned to a cable news station with the volume low and if I am so engrossed into the story, I don’t even realize it is on.

From Lori’s site:
It struck me recently how much time I spend on this computer every day, blogging, chatting or playing games on Facebook, emailing friends and relatives, making cards and calendars, etc. etc. etc.

We depend on each other for book reviews, giveaways, encouragement, friendship, but how well do we really know each other?
So that is what this meme is all about, getting to know each other.
1. Author Jessica Park commented this week on Facebook that “Naming characters takes me almost as long as it does to write the book.” which led me to start thinking about names. Is there a story behind your first name?
Not really.  Only that the first letter of my name is the first letter of my mother’s.  And my sister’s first letter is the same as it was for my father.

2. Do you think parents today give more thought to the names they give their children than our parents did?
Interesting question.  Really not sure of the answer but if I had to guess I would say parents today give more thought in naming their children.

3. What is the most unusual child’s name you have noticed recently?
The person I am thinking of is not a child but a local news reporter and I never can pronounce it and hope I come close to spelling it.  It’s Nnewka

Review "Sixty-Nine" by Pynk

SIXTY-NINE by Pynk

Published by Grand Central Publishing

Hachete Book Group
ISBN 978-0-446-56333-8

At the request of The Hachette Book Group, an ARC TPB was sent, at no cost to me, for my honest opinion.
Synopsis: It’s New Year’s Eve 2008, and best friends Magnolia Butler, Rebe Richardson, and Darla Clark, all born in 1969, are about to turn the dreaded 4-0 in January 2009. Magnolia, a New Year’s Day baby, is childless, and always a bridesmaid, never a bride. Rebe, the mother of a college-aged daughter named Trinity, has just gone through a divorce from a man whose sexual appetite far exceeded her desires and abilities. Darla is also a New Year’s Day baby, still mourning her husband’s death after five years.
My Thoughts and Opinion: I started reading this book thinking it was going to be about three long time friends who are facing the big 4-0 and seeing their individual perspective of what it means to each of them. Both looking into the past and what they are hoping for the future. I truly thought it was a typical chick lit read. And even though it has been a few years that I have passed that milestone, I really thought it was going to be the type of novel whereas you become part of the characters’ lives. It started off that way with chapters alternating between the three ladies and their lives with some sexual undertones that were, understandably part of the story line. However, after reading over 100+ pages, I then realized that the sexual undertones were not just an undercurrent but the main premise of the book. I don’t consider myself a prude by any means but when the story turned to very graphic and erotica descriptive chapters, that I felt took away from the actual concept of friendship and lives, I knew it was time to set this one to the side. I would have continued reading it if it was written with more of a substantive storyline with sexual undercurrents.
