I have been debating whether to add one more.  Heck…what’s one more at this rate.  And this one is truly a challenge.  I signed up for it in 2010 and didn’t read one book for the category, so am going to try again.

Teddy of So Many Precious Books, So Little Time is hosting the Books Won Challenge for a second year. She writes:
I created this challenge last year to challenge myself and others that have won books, to read and review some of them. The reason publishing companies supply books for book bloggers to give away is to get word out about the books and create buzz. I didn’t do very well with this challenge in 2010, I only read one won book. However, 2011 is a New Year and a fresh start. I feel bad that I haven’t read many of the book I have won and want to make an effort to read them in 2011.
If you would like to join me, here are the levels:
Honorable Mention: Read 1-3 book you won.  CHOOSING THIS LEVEL
Bronze: Read 4-6 books you won.
Silver: Read 7-9 Books you won.
Gold: Read 10 or more books you won.
The Rules:
1. You must write a review for each book that you read for it to count. If you do not have a blog you can write your reviews on a place like Amazon, Powell’s, Chapters, etc.
2.Crossovers with other challenges are okay.
3. Audiobooks and ebooks count, as long as you won them.
4. You can change up levels but cannot go back down a level.
5. You don’t have to make a list ahead of time for this challenge but you can if you want to.

A NEW 2011 CHALLENGE…..THE THREE Rs

Photobucket
Over the past month or so, if you follow this blog, you know that besides books, I also LOVE challenges.  This past year, from reading so many excellent reviews, my personal tbr bucket list has grown.  And I expect 2011 to be no different.  But in 2011, we want to give those bloggers, that write the phenomenal reviews, recognition.   SO………….Gina, from Hott Books,   Julie from Reading Without Restraint and myself are cohosting a challenge for just that.  We hope that you will help us recognize those bloggers that write the reviews for the books that we read.  We are also planning some fun giveaways too.  Gina has created a site just for this challenge, so we hope that you head on over, sign up and join us in the fun!!!   So….drumroll……introducing our 2011 Challenge:

THE THREE R'S

About:
The Three R’s is a collaboration of the minds of Cheryl from CMash Loves to Read, Julie from Reading with Restraint, and Gina from Hott Books. The ideas, the creativity, and the technology – respectively. We’re each putting forth what we can do to spring this to life.
It all started because Cheryl wanted to remember the bloggers who write the reviews that begin our journey to a new book, new series, or new author. Every day each of us reads the reviews of others shaping our TBR lists. Then we occasionally remember to note them in our post but, more often than not, we completely forget about the reviews that brought us to the wonderful book we’ve just read.
So this challenge is for them!
We’d like to link our reviews that mention the blogger that suggested the book we’ve read and are now reviewing.
How thankful are you?
LEVELS
1-6 Books (~1 review every 2 months)
7-12 Books (~1 reviews every month)
13-24 Books (~ 2 reviews every month)
RULES:
We’re not making this a difficult challenge, actually, it’s going to be very simple!
Write a starting post stating how thankful you plan to be in the upcoming year and link it to the linky we’ll have on the starting post.
Read a book recommended to you by another blogger. (This book can be a crossover from another challenge.)
Review the book & Recognize the blogger who recommended it to you.
Recommend the Book in our Recommend linky by linking your review post naming the blogger who recommended the book to you.
Easy, right? Who wants to be in on the fun?
What else will we be doing?
We’ll have quarterly giveaways for our participants to enter and unannounced special drawings for commenters on the site so be sure to leave your email address with your comment!
DATES:
Challenge will run from January 1st 2011 to December 31st, 2011
And don’t forget to tell your friends!!!!!

SHHHHH another one!!!!

What can I say….I’m bad…..I’m addicted……   But this time, you can blame my friend Gina from Hott Books.   She hinted, suggested, told me in no uncertain terms, that I needed to sign up  LOL.  Poor girl…can’t imagine why she thinks I need computer help  LOL  unless, its because I am constantly bothering her about how-tos with the computer.  So at my friend’s request, I am signing up for:

HOSTED BY MAW BOOKS BLOG

Rules for sign up:
It’s already time for the fourth edition of Bloggiesta! Are you a blogger? (With apologies to those who are not). If so, this event is just for you! Bloggiesta is scheduled for January 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. The beginning of the year is a great time to evaluate your blog, see how you’re doing, and get re-energized for the rest of the year!
Some of you may be asking what is Bloggiesta? In short, it’s a blogging marathon. A opportunity to cross those nagging items off of your to-do list and improve your blog while in the good company of other awesome bloggers doing the same thing. Our awesome mascot Pedro (Plan. Edit. Develop. Review. Organize) is ready to break out the nachos, enchiladas, drinks, mariachi music and whack a pinata or two! It’s nothing short of an awesome fiesta!
How to play:
*The date is Friday, January 21st Saturday the 22nd and Sunday the 23rd. You can really start whenever you want within that time but official hours are 8am to 8am (wherever you are). That is a total of 76 hours, the hours spent on the challenge do NOT need to be in a row. Use the entire 76 hour time frame and see what you can do with it.
*It’s your call as to how much you want to put into it. But you have to put something into it or it’s not a challenge. So stay up all night or sleep and take care of kids when you need to.
*When you start the challenge, come to this blog and to the “starting line” post and link to your specific post about beginning the challenge which is posted on your blog. That way I’ll be able to track participants and know who’s really at the party.
*How many updates (if any) you want to do is up to you. Make it work for you. Personally, I like making a to do list and then crossing off items as I accomplish them. There will be bloggers hosting mini-challenges as well. These are great to learn new information. To get an idea of the mini-challenges last time, check out the list.
*If you are on Twitter, use the hashtag #bloggiesta to join the chatter.
*Your final summary post needs to be posted no later than end of the day Monday, January 24th. Come back to the finish line and link to your specific summary post (again- can be that same post you’ve been updating). Your summary should include the number of hours spent on the challenge, what you accomplished, links to mini-challenge hosts if you completed them and any other experiences you’d like to add.
