Musing Mondays (1 of 3)

MONDAY
Photobucket
Happy Monday all!  How was your Halloween?  Yesterday my hubby went out and bought the candy for last night (I still am not allowed to drive).  I told him approximately what to get, and being a man….did he listen…….NO!!  He came home with enough candy for the next 4 years.  I laughed all night because…..are you ready for this……we had about 6 little goblins that rang our doorbell  all night lol.  So this morning, I sent him off to work with a wicker basket and 1/3 of the candy and told him to put it on his desk.  My plan was not only to get rid of all this candy, but every time he looks at it,  he will be reminded that he should have listened to me lol.
Yesterday I asked about how I should post my memes.  It was unanimous, to put all memes as one post instead of having each meme having it’s own posting.  Since today’s memes had already been drafted and ready to go, in individual form, I didn’t want to redo them.  I will be trying out the new format after today.

Today’s Question:
Do you have any special reading that you do as it gets closer to Christmas? If so, tell us about it! And, if not, tell us why not! ;)
My Answer:
As an adult…no.  When my boys were small, I did read them Christmas stories.  I never even thought about reading a book because of a holiday, I just read my favorite genres year round.

Mailbox Monday (2 of 3)

Photobucket
November is being hosted by Julie from Knitting and Sundries.  Thank you Julie!!!

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of The Printed Page and is now on tour.
I want to thank Avis from She Reads and Reads for being a wonderful host during the month of October.
According to Marcia, “Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.”
My postal carrier was quite busy this week.  I just don’t understand why she isn’t excited delivering my mail like the way I am when I see she has goodies for me lol.

Meet Me On Monday (3 of 3)

Hosted by Java from Never Growing Old
From Java’s site:
Blogging is a funny thing…we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time I find myself sitting and wondering, “who is this person!?” I know them…but yet I don’t know them! I want to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought of a great way for all of us to “meet” each other!

Questions:

1. Have you ever been on a cruise?
Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas.
Yes!!  Is someone planning one? Is this an invitation?!!  I’ll be packed in an hour!!
We have been on 2 Royal Caribbean cruises and had a blast!! First time went with 14 couples.  Second time, even better!  As part of a graduation present, we took our 2 sons, they had never been, so I got to see it through their eyes.  They both said that a cruise was the only way to go on vacation, and one of them went again, just a couple of months ago.  A good friend of mine, Julie, is leaving on one next week…hoping she has a fantastic and fun time!!

2. What is your favorite way to eat eggs?

Egg salad sandwich, scrambled, eggs over medium fried egg sandwich, deviled eggs…..think you get the point….I like eggs!!!

3. What is your favorite reading material?

4. Name all the pets that you have ever had?
Before getting married, our family had 2 toy poodles, Fluffy and Toby
When we got married, we had a Doberman named Duke.  And when the boys were small, Santa brought them a Bichon named Raffee (named after one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for those that remember)
And until just recently, we lived with our son’s dog for 5 years.  A weimaraner named Bronx (son is a big Yankee’s fan, but I called him the demon dog.  We had a mutual dislike of each other lol.  He had separation anxiety, so whenever my son left the house, he would try to find something to destroy.  I was sad when my son bought his own house and moved out but I was delighted that the dog was leaving too!!!
5. Were you ever a girl/boy scout?
Photobucket
Yes….for a very short time.  Long enough to do the cookie sales, which I thought that was all we would do lol.

This week’s question:
About how many books (roughly) would you say you own? (If you don’t have a clue how many, do you care to know? Why, or why not?)
My answer:
I know its a lot less then a couple of months ago.  I had read an article stating that if a book has been on your shelf unread for 2 years, then get rid of it.  So when we redid one of our rooms into an office/library, I purged 4 big boxes of books.  Not sure how many we have now, but the 2 brand new large 5 shelf bookcases are full and a couple of shelves with PBs are doubled up.  I think if I new the exact number, it might depress me because I’m not sure if I can read all that I own, plus the books on my EReader.  That is why instead of calling it my personal tbr list, I now call it my “tbr bucket list”.

Meet Me On Monday (3 of 4)

Hosted by Java from Never Growing Old

“Meet Me On Monday!”
From Java’s Blog:
Blogging is a funny thing…we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time I find myself sitting and wondering, “who is this person!?” I know them…but yet I don’t know them! I want to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought of a great way for all of us to “meet” each other!
Every Sunday I will post five get to know you questions that you can copy and paste into your own Monday post and we can all learn a little more about each and every one of us!!
“Its a great way to to meet new friends and for others to get to know me better….one Monday at a time!!!”….as quoted by the Chacogirl!!
I will make this SIMPLE and FUN!!!

Questions:
1. Do you sleep with a night light on?
Sleeping Girl
No..need darkness, especially hubby, so if I read in bed, I use a clip on book light.
2. What do you drink with dinner?
WATER
With lots and lots of ice.

3. Do you play the lottery? If so, how often?
lottery
Once in a great while!!

4. How often do you go to the grocery store?
Photobucket
We usually do a big grocery shopping about once a month at BJs Warehouse
and then a regular about every other week or when needed.  We have, which
is fantastic for me because I can’t lift, online ordering and delivery from regular market.
5. Would you rather travel back in time 500 years or travel forward 500 years?
This is a hard one.  It would depend.  If one could relive their
lives then I would say 500 years back.  But if it was just to visit
either time frame, I would want to travel forward to see
house designs, new technology, modes of travel, etc.
future kids...
