From Danielle’s blog:

We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.
This Week’s Question: Do you have a New Year’s resolution? Share at least one (more if you want!).

OK….I’ll play along (lol).  I have decided on 2 for the New Year!!  My resolutions…………………… for the 1st hour of 2011 are:

Not sure though…carrot cake doesn’t count, does it?  That
would fall under the category of vegetable.  And what
about apple and blueberry pies?  Those are fruits!!!
Photobucket
My 2nd is not signing up for any more challenges….well….
not the year long kind (since they all start today).
The mini challenges don’t count.  And saying NO to so many requests
…..sorry…..got to run…have some emails that are waiting for
me to answer regarding reviews (but I’ll wait an hour before responding  lol).

This week’s question:  What’s your favorite holiday movie? The one you could watch every year and it would always remind you of that time of year.

As most of you know, I am not a big TV and/or movie person….give me a book anyday.  However, when my boys were younger, we did watch the following movies every year.  And even getting this post ready, I remember and cherish the memories of those years!!  Their favorites were:

This week’s question:  It’s the holidays! Do you have a favorite holiday tradition or is there one you want to start?
Read more: http://www.theresabook.com/category/a-bit-of-meme/#ixzz17WyqZYt9
We have 2.
First, Christmas Eve is our biggest tradition.  Catholic Italians, which I am one of, have a tradition of serving a dinner with a variety of 7 fishes.  For 24 years we invited immediate family and friends for a sit down dinner with many courses (I haven’t done it for a few years, but sure miss doing it, because of my back..it would take 2 days to prepare).  Then around 10pm, many types of desserts would be put out and we would host an open house until the wee hours of Christmas morning.

And another tradition we started, when friends gave us a dated Hallmark Christmas Ornament, the first year we were married.  Since then we get one for every year we have been married, some of the special ones are for the year our boys were born.  The ornaments were of a crib and the other, a crib mobile.  We will have 29 this Christmas.  I can’t wait to start the tradition when my boys get married.  It is fun and nostalgic, unwrapping each ornament, seeing the date and reminiscing of memories for that year.

SATURDAY

Happy Saturday one and all!!   Hope you are all doing great and enjoying your long weekend.  For me, and you might have noticed yesterday, that I did a disappearing act.  I was sitting in my recliner reading Private by James Patterson ( love his books) and WHAM!!!   It came from left field.

I have a very low immune system due to Epstein Barr, also called Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome  CFIDS, and catch everything.  Except my body can’t fight viruses so it puts me down.  I went to bed at 11:30am and woke up this morning.  So needless to say, I did not make much progress in reading.  Going to try again today.

This week’s question:  Tell everyone a little bit about your favorite Birthday
Read more: http://www.theresabook.com/#ixzz168lGsF7E

Yes…I know…what am I thinking, but, my 50th was very special.  It was a combo celebration spent with the favorite people in my life.  Not only did we celebrate my bday but 3 days later, it was our 25th wedding anniversary.   Hubby and I rented a limo, made dinner reservations at a fancy smancy restaurant, that was an hour away in Boston, a table for 6.   Hubby, myself, and our 2 sons and their gfs all went out for a night on the town.  We were all dressed in formal attire.  One son surprised us with CDs he made of songs from the year we were married, for the hour’s ride .  We sang and were silly on our way to the restaurant.   And yes, I will admit, since we were all of the legal age to drink, we toasted to a wonderful celebration.  The dinner was fabulous.  And on our way home, we made one more stop.  We surprised the kids and went to the top of the Prudential Center and had an after dinner drink on the 52nd floor, overlooking all of Boston, absolutely beautiful !!!  And then continued our silliness and singing for the ride home.  It was a wonderful night that I will never forget.
