This week’s question:
With the advent (and growing popularity) of eBooks, I’m seeing more and more articles about how much “better” they can be, because they have the option to be interactive … videos, music, glossaries … all sorts of little extra goodies to help “enhance” your reading experience, rather like listening to the Director’s commentary on a DVD of your favorite movie.

How do you feel about that possibility? Does it excite you in a cutting-edge kind of way? Or does it chill you to the bone because that’s not what reading is ABOUT?
My answer:
As for me, all the above new enhancements does not affect me.  My EReaders are  for just one purpose…reading.  However, I do enjoy the “goodie” of having a dictionary at hand while reading.  But for the videos, music, etc, etc, I usually don’t use them in the traditional way. so it will not be part of my “reading experience.  On the other hand,  if it helps those to find the pleasure of reading, then I’m all for it.

On that note, I have to share some good reading news.  I was the type of mother who always read to my boys when they were young, took trips to the library and book stores.  They were always allowed to pick out books to purchase.  Once in high school and through college, they never read a book for pleasure.  I kept asking where did I go wrong?  Its not like they never saw me without a book.  Last week my youngest son, Mark’s gf Jess, who is a reader, couldn’t wait to tell me the latest news.  Mark graduated college in December and found a job in his field within a few months.  Of course, we are so proud of him on that level. BUT, Jess told me that Mark was complaining that the train ride into the city, to and and from work was boring.  So she handed him a book for the commute, that she thought he would enjoy.  Lo and behold, he read the book, in a week and ENJOYED it!!!  My hard work didn’t go to waste.  Thank you Jess for getting him to read again!!  I loved Jess the minute I met her, I love her even more now!!!  Now I have to pack up a care package of books to send to him lol.

This week’s question:
All things being equal (money, space, etc), would you rather own copies of the books you read? Or borrow them?
My answer:
Own.  I would much rather utilize all my senses when it comes to a new book compared to a borrowed one.

Today’s question:
Do you read book reviews? Whose do you trust? Do they affect your reading habits? Your buying habits?

My answer:
Unfortunately, yes lol.  That is why my personal tbr bucket list is so big that I doubt, at my age, I will ever be able to read all the books listed.  Whose do I trust?  Again, the answer is many.  Since I started blogging, I have gotten to know those bloggers who have similar likes as me, and it’s their reviews that I know if a book should go on my list.  However, I am leery of some bloggers whose reviews are all positive.

From Lori’s site:
It struck me recently how much time I spend on this computer every day, blogging, chatting or playing games on Facebook, emailing friends and relatives, making cards and calendars, etc. etc. etc.
We depend on each other for book reviews, giveaways, encouragement, friendship, but how well do we really know each other?
So that is what this meme is all about, getting to know each other.

WEEK 40 QUESTIONS
Lori has announced that today is the finale of Enquiring Minds.  I, personally, will miss this meme.  I looked forward to see what questions she would come up with each week.  I think she did a fantastic job but I can also understand how much work it is to host a weekly meme.  No matter what,  I know that since I have gotten to know Lori a lot better because of the memes we host, our friendship will continue.  Thank you Lori for a job well done!!!

This week’s question:
Do you ever feel like you’re in a reading rut? That you don’t read enough variety? That you need to branch out, spread your literary wings and explore other genres, flavors, styles?

My answer:
At times yes.  But than on the other hand, there are so many books that I want to read in the genres I enjoy, and honestly feel that I will never get to all of them, that I don’t feel I am missing out on anything..  I have one large 5 shelf packed bookshelf that are divided into one shelf of my requested reviews, the rest are all of my personal personal tbr books.  So when I deplete this bookcase, I will consider another genre lol.

WEEK 39 QUESTIONS
1. If you could meet a famous person who would you like to meet?
This is definitely a hard question and so many possible answers but because this milestone just occurred yesterday, I would say Oprah.
2. Are you planning a summer vacation?
Since we just got back from vacation, our summer plans will be to spend it by our pool.
3. What is your favorite television show?
Piers Morgan Tonight and since the Casey Anthony trial has begun, I do watch Nancy Grace to get the recap of what happened in court.
