(BOOKING THRU THURSDAY MEME WILL FOLLOW THIS POST.)

Yesterday I was again surprised and amazed when one of my new followers, Renee from Addited To Romance Blog Site (http://addictofromance.blogspot.com/) presented me with this award.  This one is a new one to me and am very honored.  Renee is a new book blogger and has quite a nice site, so please stop by and say hi to her.  Now on to the reward and criteria:

Criteria:
Here is how it works:

If you are given this award you must first accept it by leaving a comment on the post you were nominated on. Then copy and paste the post and add it to your own blog. Make a list of the last 5 books you read and pass the award on to 5 other bloggers (no backsies!). Please also identify the blog from which you got the award and don’t forget to tell them they have a blog award!
My comment on her blog after receiving award:
Renee: Congratulations on your award !!!! Enjoy !!! And how kind of you to pass it to me. I am a semi newbie to book blogging and remember receiving my 1st award and have to say honestly, that it feels the same way when presented with subsequent awards, it truly makes me feel that I am accepted into this wonderful family of book bloggers. I will post about this award with my Thursday’s postings. Again thank you, this award is a new one for me.
Here are the last five books that I have read:

Today’s question is:
Are your book choices influenced by friends and family? Do their recommendations carry weight for you? Or do you choose your books solely by what you want to read?
Unfortunately I don’t have many family or friends that enjoy reading.  Matter of fact there are only a couple.  My cousin, who I send my books to, are now comparing notes as to what we thought of the books.  And my biggest book buddy, Jess (my son’s gf) has suggested books to me that she has read.  Last summer when they were here, Jess and I would sit by or in the pool reading.  I just loved that time together.  Other than review books, I choose books that I want to read.

Have you noticed the changed cursor?  Instead of the generic arrow,  I am trying out a cursor I found on Cursormania (saw it on Kaye’s site Pudgy Penguin Perusals (http://kayespenguinposts.blogspot.com).  She had a sleuth magnifying glass and thought it was so different, yet fun.  Please take my poll (left sidebar) to vote and let me know what you think

Teaser Tuesday (1 of 2)

Photobucket

You may have noticed a change when you stopped by….a little person with eyes on book reading cursor instead of the generic arrow cursor.  What do you think?  Like or Dislike?  Please take poll on left hand sidebar as to if it stays or not.  If it does stay, I will probably be changing it periodically depending on holidays, seasons, etc.  But it is up to my visitors and readers that get to decide, so please vote.  Thank you !!!!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
   My Teaser:
How a body hits the ground after falling from twenty-four stories might lead them to believe something about the manner with a high probability of certainty, but there would be no lab test to confirm it.
