  **I like country decor.
**I hate the winter and usually hibernate.
**I love the smell of books.
Now I will pass this award on to the following blogs (in no particular order)

Challenge Update–Tues (3 of 3)

Hosted by Kristen from Bookworming in the 21st Century
Yesterday I had good intentions to get my computer items done and head to the recliner to read.  But I had a long session with PT and then my bff came to visit and do my nails, its great having a friend that is a nail tech.  She has been wonderful, not only by making house calls, but being at my side at the drop of a hat, during this really rough time with “my medical journey”.
I didn’t quite meet my goal but am hoping to catch up.  I only put in 4.5 hours of reading time.  So I am off to get some stuff done and run, walk really fast, ok, take slow steps with my cane to the recliner.  Happy Reading and Good Luck today to those that are participating!!

TUESDAY

Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser:
This wasn’t the bravest thing she’d ever done, Marina thought as she smiled at the three startled women, but it might turn out to be one of the stupidest.

Mini Challenge (1 of 4)

MONDAY

Yesterday, in my google reader, I saw a posting from the blog, Review From Here, where there was a Read-A-Thon starting today.  It starts today at 8am and goes thru until Sunday 06/20 at midnight.  I am throwing my hat, or should I say book, into the ring.

Instead of choosing a goal of how many books I will read, especially since my books are usually well over 300 pages each.  I will be challenging my self to hours read.  And the number of hours for this challenge will be 40 hours for the week, a full time job lol.  Want to join, link provided above.  I will be reporting daily how I am doing.  And Good Luck to those who are participating.

Musing Mondays (2 of 4)

Today’s Question:
Who in your family (both immediate & extended) are readers, and who are not?
My Answer:
There aren’t many family members, both immediate and extended, that read.  Matter of fact, I can only think of 3 people.  My cousin Jennifer, my Godmother Liz, and my son’s gf Jessica.  That’s it.  And unfortunately they all live out of state.  So many times, I would read a book I thought was worth discussing, but nobody around me were interested.  That is why when I stumbled upon a book blog, then started clicking their blog roll, I couldn’t believe that all these people share their thoughts on books.  I finally found someone, I should say, many, many friends that were interested.  Over the years, I have tried so hard to encourage my immediate family (hubby and 2 sons) to read, but never could.  But last summer, I have to say, hubby heard a book being discussed on a cable news show and ordered it.  So I started a quality time, reading by the pool book club.  I got him to at least open the book and read the first 2 chapters.  lol  Will try again this summer.
