ABOUT THE BOOK

A rogue knight and an enchanting renegade join forces to right old wrongs in award-winning author Kris Kennedy’s sizzling new medieval romance.

A warrior with questionable intentions . . .

Jamie Lost is the king’s most renowned commander, a fearless lieutenant ordered to kidnap an exiled priest before rebel forces close in. The mission is simple—until he meets a mysterious thief who will steal his quarry and then his heart.

A lady of remarkable courage . . .

Beautiful Eva is also seeking Father Peter, but she intends to protect him from a secret that could cost him his life. She senses that she, too, should fear Jamie—not just for his wickedly sharp sword and dangerously muscular body, but for the powerful longing he ignites within her.

A secret that could overthrow the king.

When a band of mercenaries abducts the priest, Jamie and Eva must form a volatile alliance. As civil war unfolds around them, they embark on an epic journey that betrays the truth about their hidden identities, their unexpected loyalties, and the simmering attraction that could seal their fates forever.

ABOUT THE BOOK

New York Times bestselling author Jane Feather again delights with her new book in this entrancing Georgian trilogy featuring three noble brothers who are offered a preposterous opportunity to restore their family’s mortgaged lands. An eccentric uncle promises a lavish inheritance, but only if each marries—thus redeeming—a fallen woman. And if even one brother fails to fulfill the old man’s decree, none will gain the windfall.

Lady Serena Grantley was born to the nobility, but fortune’s whim placed her in control of her gamester stepfather, who uses her beauty to lure young men to his gambling tables. Serena even dismissed her first love, the Honorable Sebastian Sullivan, at her stepfather’s command. But when he attempts to force her into a liaison with a dissolute earl, Serena resolves to do his bidding no more. Sebastian is the only man who ever captured her heart, and it is to him she turns. . . .

Torn between family loyalty and the woman he loves, Sebastian faces a devilish dilemma. His uncle is ailing, and time is running short. Desperate to find a solution, Sebastian conceives a dangerous plan—a wager that could bring him and Serena happiness at last . . . or separate them forever.

HOMEPLACE  SYNOPSIS:
Contemporary and compelling, the novels of JoAnn Ross draw their power from the laughter and tears that fill women’s lives. Now, after her triumphant bestseller A Woman’s Heart, she makes a dazzling Pocket Books debut with a richly emotional tale of a woman struggling with her unconventional family…and a deep longing for a love of her own.

Fighting legal battles eighty hours a week has left Raine Cantrell burned out and empty. Although she once dreamed that success might make the father who walked away without a backward glance take notice, the high-powered big-city lawyer now finds herself feeling very alone. Then she gets an urgent call from three kids in trouble in her Washington state hometown, and suddenly Raine is returning to face unresolved feelings, unhealed wounds — and an unexpected desire.

Sheriff Jack O’Halloran, a man with a tragedy in his past and a six-year-old daughter to raise alone, has three teens barricaded inside a house and the media clamoring for a story. He isn’t ready for Raine to invade his territory — or his thoughts. And Raine isn’t ready for anyone to touch her heart.

FAR HARBOR SYNOPSIS:
“One of the best storytellers the genre has produced” (Amazon.com), JoAnn Ross creates characters so vibrant and funny they’re irresistible. Now she triumphs again with a remarkably intimate tale that illuminates the ardent emotions of a woman coming to terms with her life — and with her heart.

After her seemingly idyllic marriage turns out to be a pretty illusion, Savannah Townsend returns to her hometown of Coldwater Cove, Washington. Determined to live life on her own terms, she takes on the task of restoring the local Far Harbor lighthouse and making it the cozy inn she had always dreamed of. But she hasn’t anticipated opposition from the lighthouse’s owner, her grandmother’s disturbing memory losses, or the problems of an emotionally wounded teenage girl. Most of all, she hasn’t planned on having feelings for Daniel OHalloran, a caring and passionate man from her past.

As affection moves to attraction and then to something far deeper, Savannah learns that in life nothing worth having comes easily. She also discovers that some dreams really are forever.

A novel of uncommon grace and power, Far Harbor is at once a poignant love story and an emotion-packed account of one woman’s journey home.

After All This Time… She’s Finally Doing It!

Happy Saturday!Hott Designs

It’s taken me years, but I’ve finally gotten CMash to commit to a new blog design. So, now the poor girl must bow to my every whim while I completely take over.

So, don’t freak if, for a few hours the site looks a bit messy… I’m sure even Monet’s works looked a bit odd before they were done.

If you have any questions or something looks truly disastrous, please, let me know: gina at hottbooks.com

BEA-Wrap Up

Another Armchair BEA has come and gone. It’s been an exhausting but exhilarating week. Hopefully, you made some new friends, learned some interesting tips, got some insight into the main event in New York, and most importantly had fun.

Please feel free to link up to your individual wrap-up post you may write. We love to go back and look at people’s final thoughts on our no-longer-little event!

First I want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who hosted Armchair BEA, a major undertaking.

I will definitely be participating next year.  I hope that I will be more involved then, especially with the Twitter aspect.  It was fun finding new blogs and bloggers, the daily agendas and the experience overall.  I didn’t get to visit everyone but I copied/pasted the list and will be stopping by in the future.  I hope to become more involved next year now that I know a little bit more of this event.

BEA–Day 5

It’s Friday! The last day of Armchair BEA. Can you believe it? The week has just flown by. I hope everyone has met some new blogging friends and learned a few things too. Maybe you got ideas for the future of your blog. We hope so. We want book blogging to be around for a long time.

Today’s topic is Ask The Experts. In your post, ask the visitors to your blog for blogging advice. What did you always want to know about blogging but were afraid to ask? Now is the time!

Alternatively, if you’ve been blogging for awhile, you’ve probably learned a thing or two. Whether you stumbled upon a something that makes blogging easier or made a mistake you’d never want anyone to repeat, share your experience and wisdom with others.

Even though I have been part of this community for 2+ years, I do still have questions/concerns.  But first I would like to say that I know I will be at this for many more years since I enjoy every minute of it as I did when I first started due to the following.  I love meeting new people, albeit new bloggers, authors, publishers, publicists, etc.  Also seeing and receiving ARCs, books and/or new authors is like being a kid in a candy store.  Seeing others’ thoughts on books read since I am not surrounded by readers in RL to discuss books read, for me, this is like being part of one very large book club.
What has worked for me:
*Draft up posts way in advance (for both showcases and daily memes). For memes I created a cheat template, create the drafts a month before and then plug in what is needed for that particular day.
*Individual folders for each contact person, winners of giveaways, templates for postings, etc.
*Cataloging books received onto a spreadsheet with date received, from who, if a review is needed and when then update it when book is read, date read, rating.

Now for my concerns:
*Falling behind on requested reviews. I have a very hard time saying NO and tend to accept too many books. My feeling, and not sure if it is wrong, but my thinking is that if it is a good review, it doesn’t matter when it is posted. A favorable review will bring recognition to the book no matter the time frame.
*Finding/writing fresh material for posts. Again, and especially if I get behind in my reviews, is one of the reasons why I participate in daily memes so that I post everyday.
*Social media-FB/Twitter I don’t post and/or tweet unless it is pulled from my blog. Should I be more active with this?

BEA–Day 4

Today at Armchair BEA: Beyond Your Blog

Has blogging opened up opportunities for you beyond getting free, advance copies of new books? Has it helped you get offers to write or review elsewhere (maybe even for pay)? Have you gotten invites to special events or places you might not have been to otherwise? Today, we’d like you to talk about those opportunities in you own posts, and later this morning, we’ll have a guest post from one of our own Armchair BEA team members, about her freelancing experiences.
I am very lucky regarding this question.  Last June I had a dream come true, I was offered a partnership from Molly, of Reviews By Molly, to become a partner in a virtual PR tour company she founded.  I had, for quite some time hoped to become a tour coordinator for a company and when she approached me to become a partner, I was ecstatic.   Our company is Partners In Crime Tours (www.partnersincrimetours.net), a virtual PR tour company for authors of mystery, suspense and crime novels.  This past year we have had many tours booked,  and have fantastic tour hosts that are part of our group.  If you enjoy this genre, and would like to become a host, please email at CMash@Partnersincrimetours.net and I will  provide more details for hosting.   I invite you to visit our site to see our past, current and upcoming tours and read our testimonials.

BEA–Day 3

Today is day 3 of Armchair BEA and the topic of discussion is the following:

Today is the day that we discuss networking.  Many of us bloggers network online.  Afterall, Armchair BEA is all about networking online, particularly with other bloggers.  However, how can you get more involved offline and in real life?  Have you ever wondered how some bloggers have established those connections with local bookstores or libraries or even beyond?

For Day 3, we want you to share your positive experiences of using your blog to get involved in your community.  This can involve partnerships with the local literary scene, attending author events and signings, or getting together with bloggers in your area.  We want to hear it all!

Another day in this community and another issue learned.  I, unfortunately, did not know about the above and hoping to gather information on how to partner and network within my community.  I thought, naively, that all networking among us was via internet.  So since I have no experience in this area, would appreciate any tips, where to start, what to do, etc.  I thank you in advance if you are stopping by and leaving comments on this subject.
