Thursday Awards

Photobucket

Before I share with you more awards that have been presented to me, I want to say THANK YOU.  And a big thank you it is, coming straight from my heart.  I am overwhelmed with all the prayers and well wishes I am getting for my upcoming surgery.  Please know that I WILL be having blogging withdrawals and missing you all.   I have not had much computer time these past 2 weeks and it looks the same for the next couple of weeks.  Because of this, please accept my apology for not visiting you.  I appreciate you stopping by, visiting and leaving comments.  I love and enjoy reading each and every comment.  And I promise, once this is over and I am home, I will have plenty of time on my hands (according to surgeon–up to at least 3 months minimum per our phone conversation this morning) for visiting each and every one of you.  Now to awards…………

Thank you both so much!!!!!  What a wonderful feeling knowing that your peers like what you are doing.  It just amazes me, sorry to repeat myself again) but it does, it AMAZES me that just a few months ago I didn’t know this world existed.  I have met so many kind and generous people.  One of my book blogging friends and mentors told me something when I first started and she was so right!!!!!  Vicki at Reading At The Beach readingatthebeach.com said to me that book bloggers were the nicest people that I would meet and oh was she right !

 1.  Easter Sunday will be our 29th wedding anniversary
 2.  I was born on an Easter Sunday (for years my mother told me the Easter Bunny brought me…just realized last year she was fibbing about the bunny line  lol)

 4.  Family/friends hate to have me drive…they say I have a “heavy foot”.
 5.  I love to read by and/or in the pool (have a special reading float) with an Iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts (will be doing a lot of that this summer)
 6.  I am afraid of flying (but will suffer) especially if we are going to Aruba (our favorite place to visit)
 7.  I am a cable news junkie…don’t watch much tv

This is the first time that I have seen this award and absolutely love it !!!!!!  Ditto for this award as stated earlier.  Thank you Bella for thinking that I have a Stylish Blog.  It is so appreciated.

Its Day 2 of The Mystery Read-A-Thon.  I didn’t make the goal yesterday but am hoping I come close to the 6 hours today.
We are now about to start the second day of our Read-a-Thon, and I felt it’s probably about time for an update.

How are you getting on?
Unfortunately I read only for 3 hours yesterday…and that was a struggle.  My eyes and body were craving sleep, after being up so early due to the situation, and I finally gave in.
Are you getting as much reading done as you were hoping?
The answer is no. Was disappointed since this was the 1st ever weekend challenge I signed up for.  But family is always my priority above all
Do you feel you will read a total of 12 hours or is that going to be a struggle?
Don’t think I will make the 12 hours but will try to get more reading in today.
Or maybe you’ll end up reading for more than 12 hours?
  Don’t think so.
Write a bit about your reading experience so far, and share it with us by posting your link in the comment box.
I was very much looking forward to this Read-A-Thon and had goals in mind.  However, due to the events of yestereday that did not happen.  It would have been fun but family should always be a priority.  And because of my family dynamics’, I had to spend that many hours in the ER.  I am just thankful that my Mom had no serious injuries from her fall.  Hoping there will be more Mystery Read-A-Thons this year.

Happy Sunday and Happy Reading !!

Counting down for 2010 !!!!!!! I would like to wish all a very Happy and Healthy New Year !!!!  My New Year’s resolutions are to meet more book bloggers….they are definitely the nicest people ever,  less TV, more reading, and to try and finish all the challenges I have signed up for.  I probably should add more to the list but I know I would definitely break them within a few days.  So cutting out ice cream sundaes will stay on the menu (lol)  Happy Reading in 2010

Today’s Question:
It’s the last day of the year, and you know what that means … nostalgia and looking back.

What were your favorite books of the year? (Books that were new to you in 2009, if not necessarily published this year.)

My answer….I read a lot of good books this year but “The Left Behind Series” has got be be my all time favorite.  My family was thrilled when I finished all 13 books because every single spare second that I had, the books would be in my hands.  I would become so engrossed in the reading of each book to the point where I would lose track of time and forget about feeding them (lol)

As 2009 comes to a close and a new year is around the corner, I have been reflecting on this year.  My family has had to deal with a lot of  tough issues, that is life and what is important is how we deal with and learn from them but with the help from above we have made it through.   I am closing that chapter and keeping the chapters that were the good ones in 2009.  My oldest son getting a fantastic job in his field, my youngest son moving (even though that was a little hard on me) out of state where his heart has taken him.  I am very thankful for the love that our family and friends embraced us with during the trying times, being lucky enough to have them in our lives.  And for me, stumbling onto a book blog.  To all the new friends I have made that have the same level for the love of books and who I can discuss and share with.  So many of you to thank…where I would visit, read the posts and admire your blogs but not know about following.  For giving me the incentive to try and create a page as my “personal journal” and then taking it to a level that has amazed me.  Special thanks to those of you for encouraging me, being patient and helpful when I had blog/computer questions and who gave me the courage to be put on the “requested reviews” list. Thank you ( in no particular order) Vicki from Reading At The Beach, Lori from Lori’s Reading Corner, J.Kaye at J.Kaye’s Book Blog and Karen at Bookin’ With Bingo.  And special thanks to those who have joined on as followers of my blog.  I will always post with you in mind so that you will visit often. And to 2010,  my goals are meeting more nice people, coming close and maybe even hitting the 100+ challenge and to where ever this blog takes me.  Thank you all.

Wishing all a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!!

OK…I need to get off this computer…..I just found another great book blog site with a fantastic challenge that I had to sign up for.  The site is So Many Precious Books, So Little Time.  It consists of reading books that a person has won from other sites.  I am guilty…I have those on my shelves and since it can be a crossover, I have signed up for the Bronze Level 4-6 books.  If this challenge is for you…head on over to that site.  Email is http://teddyrose.blogspot.com
