Today’s question:

Do you listen to audiobooks? Why, or why not?

My answer:
No and for a few reasons.  I have this misconception, and I don’t know why, that it would put me to sleep listening to someone speak for hours.  Would it take away from me creating my own vivid images?  Would I truly pay full attention?  I’m not a multitasker.  For example, while I am blogging and/or doing paperwork in my home office, I always have the TV turned on to a cable news station , but I wouldn’t be able to tell you what the anchors had been talking about.  See my point?  However, I see that a lot of bloggers do seem to enjoy this mode of reading so maybe someday I will give it a try.

Steve Update and Monday Memes

Hi Everyone!!!!!
First and foremost I want to thank everyone for the prayers, kind and comforting words, concern, kindness and genuine caring that you have shown to me and for my husband Steve over this past week.  The support you gave me was overwhelming and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Now for the good news.  Steve was discharged to home yesterday!!!!  He finally got a good night’s sleep in his own bed without all the noise and commotion of the hospital settings.  He still has surgical incisional pain but that is normal.  And what we are really excited about is that the symptoms that he was exhibiting from the pressure on his brain has resolved.
I thank you all for the prayers as I truly believe they were heard for the remarkable outcome of this situation.  I have to be honest in saying, I have never been this frightened in my life.
The last time I said I was back, disaster struck.  So instead, I am saying, I am around lol.  And to everyone:

Today’s question:
Do you judge a book by its cover?
My response:
I admit, I do tend to judge a book by it’s cover.  For example, I am not a fan of PNR, historicals, UF and a few other genres so if the cover looks like it may fall into any of those categories, I will pass them by.  But then there are the books, by favorite  authors, even if I’m not crazy about the cover but will read no matter what is on the cover.

What about you?  Do you have a judge a book by it’s cover?

Monday Memes

I’m baaaack!!.  It has been quite some time since I have participated in memes, those daily fun interactions which was one of the reasons I went “public” with my blog.  I look forward to visiting you and hopefully have visitors stop by.  So I just want to say Hi !!!  I have missed all of you and am slowly catching up and getting back to my normal daily routine.

This week’s question:

What are you most excited about reading, right now? (can be a book you’re currently enjoying, or a book that’s yet to be published, etc.)

My answer:
Where do I begin to answer this question?  I am about to start reading Anything by Michael Baron.  I have read his previous novels Spinning, Crossing The Bridge and The Journey Home,  and have enjoyed all of them.   He is now one of the authors, the writers that you put into a different category, the ones that you anxiously await for the net book to be published.  I received the book through The Story Plant Publishing as they are starting a new program entitled Spread The Word Initiative.
To be honest, once I am caught up with paper work and tying up loose ends with personal issues, I  am looking forward to being able to READ!!  To sit, with my cup of coffee and read.  To be able to read and enjoy reading.  Over the past 6 months or more, I have read some books but not like I used to.  Not where I was totally focused.  I read because I had to.  So to answer the question, I am excited about reading, reading for pleasure, for enjoyment!!!

First I would like to thank Serena for hosting Mailbox Monday this month, one of my favorite memes, even though it is causing us to have to go out and buy another bookcase lol.
I have a few weeks of books to share with you since I haven’t participated in Mailbox Monday in a while.  These are the books I have received since September 12th.

I’m baaaack.  Aprroximately 30 minutes ago, we finally had our power restored.  My family is safe and sound, which is what is most important and what I am thankful for.  I was quite nervous about my son in CT, it’s his first house and is surrounded by a lot of land and very large trees and thankfully he escaped from any damage except for a tree that fell across his street blocking access..  We did have slight property damage to the fence around the pool, which can be fixed and is minor.  The main inconveience was being the power, however, I was able to occupy myself with a charged Kindle and a portable booklight.  Matter of fact, read 3/4 of a book.  Hubby, on the other hand, was quite restless without the tv remote in hand.
I want to thank all for the well wishes and prayers.  There are still many that are facing challenges from the aftermath of this storm, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
