IN OTHER WORLDS

by MARGARET ATWOOD

SYNOPSIS:
This book brings together her three heretofore unpublished Ellmann Lectures of 2010—“Flying Rabbits,” which begins with Atwood’s early rabbit superhero creations; “Burning Bushes,” which follows her into Victorian other-lands and beyond; and “Dire Cartographies,” which investigates utopias and dystopias.
For all readers who have loved The Handmaid’s Tale, Oryx and Crake, and The Year of the Flood—not to mention Atwood’s 100,000-plus Twitter followers— In Other Worlds is a must.

Steve Update and Monday Memes

Hi Everyone!!!!!
First and foremost I want to thank everyone for the prayers, kind and comforting words, concern, kindness and genuine caring that you have shown to me and for my husband Steve over this past week.  The support you gave me was overwhelming and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Now for the good news.  Steve was discharged to home yesterday!!!!  He finally got a good night’s sleep in his own bed without all the noise and commotion of the hospital settings.  He still has surgical incisional pain but that is normal.  And what we are really excited about is that the symptoms that he was exhibiting from the pressure on his brain has resolved.
I thank you all for the prayers as I truly believe they were heard for the remarkable outcome of this situation.  I have to be honest in saying, I have never been this frightened in my life.
The last time I said I was back, disaster struck.  So instead, I am saying, I am around lol.  And to everyone:
Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading

Today’s question:
Do you judge a book by its cover?
My response:
I admit, I do tend to judge a book by it’s cover.  For example, I am not a fan of PNR, historicals, UF and a few other genres so if the cover looks like it may fall into any of those categories, I will pass them by.  But then there are the books, by favorite  authors, even if I’m not crazy about the cover but will read no matter what is on the cover.

What about you?  Do you have a judge a book by it’s cover?

October is being hosted by Serena from Savvy Verse & Wit
Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of A girl and her books and is now on tour.

According to Marcia, “Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.”
