TUESDAY
Photobucket

Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Before my teaser, I have to tell you, that this is the perfect book to reading with all that is going on in real life.  So far it’s a lol, chuckle, chuckle read!

Chapter 3 the birds and the bee

There aren’t many things I know for sure, but I feel pretty confident about this one: You should never tag along on someone else’s honeymoon. And if you do, you definitely shouldn’t bring your kids. I know this because my dad and stepmom crashed their best friend’s honeymoon with me and one of my pale and unenthusiastic friends in tow, I mean, who does that?

Fall Into Reading 2010–Week’s Question #5 (2 of 2)

Hosted by Katrina from CALLAPIDDER DAYS
This week’s question:
When you read a book, do you read EVERYTHING? In other words, do you read the dedication, the acknowledgement, the foreword, the afterword, the prologue, the epilogue, the appendices, etc.? Or do you just read the “meat” of the book? Or is your approach somewhere in between?
My answer:
I am a somewhere in between reader.   I tend to either skim or even skip  over the acknowledgements, especially if it is a long list.  I am sure that I won’t know anyone on that page lol and when there is a long list, I understand it is important to the author and those named, but it’s like watching an award show.  The afterword depends on the subject matter.  Prologue and Epilogue are a definite because, to me that is also part of the “meat” of the story.  And if it’s a book I really enjoy, I look and hope for a synopsis of the next book that will be published and it goes on my tbr bucket list.
OK….your turn….what kind of reader are you?

Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading
This week’s question:
About how many books (roughly) would you say you own? (If you don’t have a clue how many, do you care to know? Why, or why not?)
My answer:
I know its a lot less then a couple of months ago.  I had read an article stating that if a book has been on your shelf unread for 2 years, then get rid of it.  So when we redid one of our rooms into an office/library, I purged 4 big boxes of books.  Not sure how many we have now, but the 2 brand new large 5 shelf bookcases are full and a couple of shelves with PBs are doubled up.  I think if I new the exact number, it might depress me because I’m not sure if I can read all that I own, plus the books on my EReader.  That is why instead of calling it my personal tbr list, I now call it my “tbr bucket list”.

Mailbox Monday (2 of 4)

Photobucket
This month is being hosted by Avis from She Reads and Reads

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of The Printed Page and is now on tour.
According to Marcia, “Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.”

Meet Me On Monday (3 of 4)

Hosted by Java from Never Growing Old

“Meet Me On Monday!”
From Java’s Blog:
Blogging is a funny thing…we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time I find myself sitting and wondering, “who is this person!?” I know them…but yet I don’t know them! I want to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought of a great way for all of us to “meet” each other!
Every Sunday I will post five get to know you questions that you can copy and paste into your own Monday post and we can all learn a little more about each and every one of us!!
“Its a great way to to meet new friends and for others to get to know me better….one Monday at a time!!!”….as quoted by the Chacogirl!!
I will make this SIMPLE and FUN!!!

Questions:
1. Do you sleep with a night light on?
Sleeping Girl
No..need darkness, especially hubby, so if I read in bed, I use a clip on book light.
2. What do you drink with dinner?
WATER
With lots and lots of ice.

3. Do you play the lottery? If so, how often?
lottery
Once in a great while!!

4. How often do you go to the grocery store?
Photobucket
We usually do a big grocery shopping about once a month at BJs Warehouse
and then a regular about every other week or when needed.  We have, which
is fantastic for me because I can’t lift, online ordering and delivery from regular market.
5. Would you rather travel back in time 500 years or travel forward 500 years?
This is a hard one.  It would depend.  If one could relive their
lives then I would say 500 years back.  But if it was just to visit
either time frame, I would want to travel forward to see
house designs, new technology, modes of travel, etc.
future kids...
