Time (1 of 4)

Before I start with all my Friday memes, I need to thank 3 very kind people.  Yesterday I was presented 2 awards and am honored to receive them.  I take these awards very seriously because it says to me that someone really likes my blog and that they enjoy the content.  Just a few months ago, I didn’t even know that this book blogging world existed and when I am presented with an award, it truly makes me feel that I have been accepted into the neighborhood.  I have said this before but need to reiterate.  One of my book blogging mentors (Vicki from Reading At The Beach) told me that I would be meeting the nicest people in the blogging world and she was so right.  Book bloggers are the kindest, friendliest, helpful people I have come to know.  Now to the awards:

I received this award from Lori at Dollycas’s Thoughts (http://dollycas.blogspot.com/

This startling award was created by Eleni at La Femme Reader.

It signifies all the bloggers out there who constantly work hard to keep an updated and insightful website. They aren’t afraid to take a bite with their honest reviews and enjoyable content. You amaze me, you inspire me so I call you a blog monster.
I am now going to pass this award to the following:
Julie P from Reading Without Restraint http://.readingwithoutrestraint.blogspot.com
Lynn from Midday Escapades http://middayescapades.com
MarceJ from Tea Time With Marce http://teawithmarce.blogspot.com
Nise from Under The Boardwalk http://nisefunpages.blogspot.com
Xmas Dolly http://thenewxmasdolly.blogspot.com
I received this award from 2 bloggers and they are:

Kathy from Bermudaonion Weblog http://www.crazy-for-books.com

Now on to the memes!

Aloha Friday (2 of 4)

Photobucket

Friday is a busy day for memes here on my blog.  As you can see I have 3 fun memes that I participate in.  I have allowed myself to spend a little more time blog hopping and a little less time reading….shhhh don’t tell anyone especially since I am behind schedule on my reading.  But how can I pass up the chance of meeting new bloggy friends and finding more book blogs to add to my blogroll.  So with that said…let’s get started………….

From An Island Life’s Blog: In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, visit An Island Life answer the question and then post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
Yesterday we had our 1st thunderstorm of 2010 and it got me thinking (again..always dangerous lol) so…..
My question is:  Are you afraid of thunderstorms?
My answer:  No…I remember even as a child that I would love to read during a T-storm, still do.

Fiday Book Blog Hop (3 of 4)

Hosted by Jennifer from CRAZY FOR BOOKS http://www.crazy-for-books.com/
Here are the instuctions from her site:

Every day I seem to find another book blog that I start following. In the spirit of the Friday Follow, I thought it would be cool to do a Book Blog Hop to give us all bookies a chance to connect and find new blogs that we may be missing out on! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs that they may not know existed!
So, if you’d like to participate, just repost this on your blog, sign MckLinky on her site, and check out other blogs in MckLinky! Let’s connect and make new book bloggy friends!! So, if you consider yourself a book blogger, come join the fun!
Pretty please – Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.

Today’s question:
So … you’re halfway through a book and you’re hating it. It’s boring. It’s trite. It’s badly written. But … you’ve invested all this time to reading the first half.

What do you do? Read the second half? Just to finish out the story? Find out what happens?
Or, cut your losses and dump the second half?
Thankfully this hasn’t happened often with me.  But when it has, I ask myself the same questions especially the one of investing time.  However, with the books I purchase, it really bothers me that I spent the money on something I didn’t enjoy.   And when it comes to a requested review from the publisher, author, or agent it bothers me even more that I will have to try and write a constructive yet with criticism review.  Think I went off on a bit of a tangent so my answer would be to cut my losses and dump the book.

Photobucket in the fun. You don’t need a blog to comment. But if you do and want to join in, link is above.

W.W.W. Wednesdays (1 of 2)

  Photobucket
This morning hubby and I are headed back to where my surgeries were performed for a follow-up visit with the surgeon.  I apologize in advance if I don’t get around the blogosphere to visit and read your postings depending how I feel when we get back home.  Last week when I was discharged from the hospital, the ride home was very uncomfortable for me, sitting in one position for over and hour and of course hitting every pot hole along the way.  And today having to do it twice….there and back.  But I will try my best to visit at least a couple.  And now my W.W.W…..
