Yesterday I drove to my son’s house who
lives out of state. And started thinking……
My Question:
What is the speed limit for highway driving where you live?
How fast do you drive on a highway, honestly lol?
My answer:
65/80.
Hi Cheryl, stopping by to say Hi, as I’ve been BAD about visiting everyone lately….sorry. I use to have a much heavier foot as exhibited by 3 moving violations in RI in 3 years, but I now have learned to stay withing 5MPH of the speed limit (except maybe in those 30MPH zone which often get me in trouble….LOL
65/75….Good question! I’m new to your blog but have been on a serious reading kick so looking forward to visiting more.
Greetings from Iowa, Here on interstate 80 the speed limit is 70, and the other roads are mostly 55, and the gravel roads drive at your own risk at bout 40 and under. I usually put the cruise on and drive the speed limit on the interstates, and highways, on the gravel roads between 30-35.
We have 3 interstates near us – the speed limit on two of them is 65 and on the other it’s 60. Having said that, they’re widening one of them and while the construction is going on, the speed limit is 55. I generally go about 5 miles over the limit.
The speed limit is 65 or 70 where posted.
The speed limits vary out here depending on where you are – further out in the boondocks it’s 65. I usually go about 5 mph over the speed limit. 😉
Night-Owls vs. Morning People
In the city 45-50 which means 60 etc.
On the interstate: 80. Which means 85
But now they are putting the speed limit further down and it catches you off guard if you aren’t paying attention because for years you are used to a certain limit.
Safe trip!
I think it’s 75. I never do more than 5 miles over no matter where I am.
Have a great Aloha Friday!

Our is 60 mph with 70 being on the longer stretches of highway. We live in Washington state.
Generally 60 mph is the speed limit. When we travel up north on 95, we try to go only 5 miles over the limit. One $225 ticket cured us of the 80-85 speed habit.
We have 2 main interstates near us. One is 65 and the other is 70. I try not to drive more than 5 miles over.
