Friday Book Blog Hop (2 of 3)

Book Blogger Hop
Hosted by Jennifer from CRAZY FOR BOOKS

In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and find new book-related blogs that we may be missing out on! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs that they may not know existed! So, grab the logo, post about the Hop on your blog, and start HOPPING through the list of blogs that are posted in the Linky list below!!
The Hop lasts Friday-Monday every week, so if you don’t have time to Hop today, come back later and join the fun! This is a weekly event! And stop back throughout the weekend to see all the new blogs that are added! We get over 200 links every week!!
Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.
If you start following someone through the Hop, leave a comment on their blog to let them know! Stop back during the week to see other blogs that are added! And, most importantly, the idea is to HAVE FUN!!

This week’ twist:
Do you judge a book by its cover?
If it is a book by an author that I am a fan of…..then no.  But if not….yes…that is what draws me into picking it up and reading the synopsis.  For example….if it has a cover that depicts an image of historical, I will bypass that type.  So, overall, my answer is yes.

Today’s Question:
Even though it’s usually a mistake (grin) … do movies made out of books make you want to read the original?
My Answer:
I am not a big movie person.  And on the rare occasions, that I may watch a movie, its because my hubby wants to see it.  If by any chance, it is a movie made from a book and I haven’t read it yet, I won’t watch the movie.  I will watch a movie after reading the book to see if it does the book justice, which the majority of times this has happened, it doesn’t.

From her site:

Why I decided to start this meme – When I read a book and come across the title, it always brings a sense of accomplishment and I think clever, interesting or I just smile with that ahh moment. So I decided to create this meme hoping it starts great conversation on each others blogs especially when we have read the same book.

Enquiring Minds Want To Know (new meme 3 of 4)

Photobucket
Hosted by Lori from Dollycas’s Thoughts

From Lori’s site:
It struck me recently how much time I spend on this computer every day, blogging, chatting or playing games on Facebook, emailing friends and relatives, making cards and calendars, etc. etc. etc.
We depend on each other for book reviews, giveaways, encouragement, friendship, but how well do we really know each other?
This week school started for my kids and I realized what that means. Think back, if you are old like me, think way back, what happens at the start of a school year.
You renew friendships and make new ones.
You get to know each other.
So that is what this meme is all about, getting to know each other.
Each Thursday I will post 3 questions for you to answer that you can copy and post on your blog with your answers.

1. How many hours per day do you spend at your computer?
Photobucket
I probably spend more time on the computer than I really should.  But between blog hopping, commenting, keeping my blog updated, writing reviews, etc etc., it is probably 4+ hours/day.  I do enjoy being on the computer but need to read more and less computer.
2. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Photobucket
Hmmmmm…Double Chocolate and Peanut Butter.  Ice cream is my comfort food !! Just a little P.S. about this question.  LOL  this one was mean since I am on a diet and just thinking about ice cream is testing my will power LOL
3. Do you own an E-Reader, Kindle, Nook, etc? If yes, which one and how do you like it. Please give us the Pros and Cons.
Photobucket
My hubby surprised me and bought me a Sony EReader in December.
Pros:  Size, easier to put in purse and take it on the go,  price of ebooks, no need for more bookcases for storage are just a few of the pros.
Cons:  no back light, battery life is not long enough (it probably would be enough for those who aren’t avid readers)
Now your enquiring mind knows!!!!
