Friday Blog Hop

FRIDAY
I know its Thursday night, but, we are leaving early in the morning to travel back to see the surgeon.  Friday is the day I allot myself more computer time and hop all over the blogosphere looking for new blogs and blogging friends.  And I just checked and Jennifer has McLinky up so I figured that I will link up and this way I can start running as soon as I get home.  See you all tomorrow.

Every day I seem to find another book blog that I start following. In the spirit of the Friday Follow, I thought it would be cool to do a Book Blog Hop to give us all bookies a chance to connect and find new blogs that we may be missing out on! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs that they may not know existed!

So, if you’d like to participate, just repost this on your blog, sign MckLinky on her site, and check out other blogs in MckLinky! Let’s connect and make new book bloggy friends!! So, if you consider yourself a book blogger, come join the fun!

Pretty please – Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.

The Journey Home by Michael Baron
Published by The Aronica-Miller Publishing Project, LLC
ISBN-13: 978-0-9819568-6-2
At the request of The Story Plant, a PB copy was sent, at no cost to me, for my honest opinion.
Subject: (from back of book): Joseph, a man in his late thirties, awakens disoriented and uneasy in a place he doesn’t recognize. He sets out on a journey to find his home with no sense of where he’s going and only the precious, indelible vision of the woman he loves to guide him.
Antoinette is an elderly woman in an assisted living facility who has retreated inside her head. There, her body and mind haven’t betrayed her. There, she’s a young newlywed with a husband who dotes on her and an entire life of dreams to live. There, she is truly home.
Warren, Antoinette’s son, is a man in his early forties going through the toughest year of his life. With far too much time on his hands, he decides to try to recreate his memories of home by attempting to cook his mother’s greatest dishes and eat them with her.
My Thoughts and Opinion: Michael Baron delivers again !! Another heart tugging, thought provoking, tender and emotional story written only the way Michael Baron can. Filled with mouth watering descriptions of meals that evoke memories of the past. He takes the reader on a journey, along with the characters, to find their way home. But where is truly the place called home and how do we get there? This story touched an emotional chord in my heart, on a personal level, due to the cross road I am also on. While reading how Warren tried to recreate his memories with the smell of meals being cooked, also brought to mind, meals and memories of my own past. Mr. Baron hit this one out of the park !! Like any good meal, The Journey Home, needs to be devoured in one seating.  Bravo !!

THURSDAY

Just a little note regarding my Friday memes and posting.  Tomorrow morning we are driving, I should say hubby is driving and I am along for the ride and probably reading, back to see the surgeon for my 2 month post op visit.  Am hoping that some of the restrictions are lifted but not the one where I can do housework lol (and don’t tell hubby I said that).  Getting very used to and enjoying blogging and reading the majority of the day.  We won’t be back until sometime in the  afternoon so my postings will be later on.  Now on to today’s meme:

Today’s question:
Do signed copies excite you? Tempt you? Delight you? Or does it not matter to you?
My answer:
One word Absolutely !!  Especially if it is personalized.  Ironically, the first book that I received with a personal inscription was from the doctor who performed my 2nd and 3rd back operations and had just had his latest book published, the topic, backs.  Since then I have received a few more.  And all of my signed editions have a special place in my bookcase.

WEDNESDAY
Sharing a couple of things before getting to the memes.  So I am in my recliner last night and started the next book in my TBR review schedule.  I let out a yell for hubby to come in the living room…poor guy…almost gave him a heart attack….gave him the book and he gives me the “yea  what” look especially since he isn’t a reader.  And  I had to look at it again.  I was reading the “reviews” of the author’s last book, which I read and reviewed….and….are you sitting down…..there is my review with my CMash Loves To Read…..I couldn’t believe it…I am in a book…..thinking I am carrying this book with me at all times and showing everybody  lol ….btw..almost forgot to tell you which book.  Its The Journey Home by Michael Baron.
OK…the next thing….regarding my designer…Also last night I was having a bit of anxiety because I was trying to do something and of course, me being so bad at computers…I emailed Emily.  OK…get this..she spent hours…and I mean hours…with me trying to walk me thru what I was trying to accomplish.  How many people would do that after installing the final project.  I am telling you, if you want a new look, contact her…she is the BEST.    Now on to memes:

Wondrous Words Wednesday (2 of 2)

Before I share with you the words I found this past week, I just want to also share my thoughts.  Back in the day (lol) when I was in school, I probably wouldn’t have been able to find these words in the dictionary.  It just amazes me that we have so much knowledge at our finger tips with today’s technology.  I WONDER what we will have say in 10 years.

Today my words are a bit different.  They are slang words (which I was eager to look up lol) that are used in Ireland and thereabouts. and they are:
  *bollocks
–noun

1.(used with a plural verb) Vulgar. ballocks.
2.(used with a singular or plural verb) British Vulgar. rubbish; nonsense; claptrap (often used interjectionally).
  *gobshite
–nounChiefly Irish Slang: Vulgar.

1.a mean and contemptible person, esp. a braggart.
2.a stupid and incompetent person
