So I did it again…I really need to read Computer for Dummies. I thought it would be a good idea to organize my photobucket images so I wouldn’t have to go thru page after page looking for a picture….but what happened…now they all have new links…so I will get to Friday memes after I fix what I made a mess of. I will be back after this station break……………..

Today’s question:
Which do you prefer? Short stories? Or full-length novels?
My answer:
Both. It depends on the story, the author and what kind of reading mood I’m in. I am guessing that most avid readers feel the same way so it will be interesting to read other bloggers’ answers.

By now I am guessing that everyone knows my morning routine…coffee, reading emails, newsletters and blog comments…and once again today started off with a warm and fuzzy feeling….Yup…..it happened again….someone likes my blog and has presented me with an award. Naomi from Naomi’s Book Reviews (http://naomisbookreviews.blogspot.com/) has passed on this award to me:
The criteria in accepting this award is:
” A prolific blogger is one who is intellectually productive, keeping up an active blog with enjoyable content”
After accepting this award, thank and link back to the person passing it on and recipients are asked to pass it forward to seven other deserving blogs and also let them know they are awarded.
In the past few weeks I have passed on awards to many deserving people. So what I plan to do is wait until the Book Blog Hop tomorrow in hopes of finding 7 new blogs to pass this award to. Naomi, thank you so much for this honor. And people…stop by Naomi’s place, say hi and tell her CMash sent you.

I have been spending quite a bit of time in my living room, sitting in my recliner reading, and there’s this small area that needs something that can fit, and complete this room. So, I have been surfing the web and have decided to go with a coffee table. I found one that has beautiful unique coffee tables that would just do the trick, but am having a hard time deciding which one. The prices vary as do the types of coffee tables. It would give my living room a different look since the area is small, but the more I look at it, the more I see that a coffee table is exactly what is needed for that area, and I know exactly what goes on top!.
Over the years, as an avid reader, I have collected many different types of books. Some being beautiful graphic books of different places we have traveled or books of light houses, since we do live in the Ocean State and, some given to us as gifts. We entertain quite a bit, be it with family, friends, coworkers, and found that these coffee table books would be looked at, and help start conversations among the guests. Knowing that these books were ice breakers so to speak, whenever I go into a book store I always look for another book that I think would be interesting in starting up conversations. I have collected many fine coffee table books over the years, and put out different ones so that the conversations would always be different.
Now to decide which coffee table I should order. Do I choose one that’s antique looking or one that has double layers? Maybe a glass one or something more unique. Do you see my problem? So many beautiful coffee tables to pick from. I definitely need some help deciding, and then I have a lot of thinking to do about which coffee table books to display on it.
As soon as recuperation is done, I plan to have a big party as its been a while and, yes, you are all invited, and don’t forget to check out my new coffee table, and of course my display of books! In fact, I think it’ll be a BYOB party! Bring Your Own Book!

It’s that time again, students graduating high school and college and in this economy, this is a perfect gift.
Partially taken from the book’s jacket: Today’s college grads face a new set of challenges brought on by a sluggish job market, changing technology, and staggering amounts of debt. The rules have changed since their parents were in school, leaving young adults at a loss for advice that addresses their immediate concerns as well as the big-picture questions with which each generation must contend.
Life coach Ken Jedding has spent the past decade talking one-on-one with college students and graduates across the country in his workshops and lectures. In Higher Education, he provides a fresh, modern guidebook to post collegiate life that addresses the issues and concerns he hears voiced most often like How can I land my dream job? Jedding’s valuable insight, wisdom and humor provide a much-needed roadmapfor the journey that is only just beginning.
My Thoughts: As a mother of two recent college graduates, I would have liked both of my sons to have read this book. I know first hand, not only with my sons but also their friends, how many interviews and how many disappointments there were. How many times I heard that they sat with many other applicants hoping for the same position. How many times they waited for “the call”. Fortunately with my boys, “the call” did come and are currently working in their field.
Higher Education On Life, Landing A Job and Everything Else They Didn’t Teach You In College by Kenneth Jedding is a perfect gift for today’s students. Available here: www.higheredgradbook.com
