FRIDAY
Photobucket
Hosted by An Island Life

From An Island Life:
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, visit An Island Life answer the question and then post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My Question:
Has anyone played an April Fool’s Trick on you today?
My Answer:
Not yet!!!
.

Book Blogger Hop
Hosted by Jennifer from CRAZY FOR BOOKS

In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and find new book-related blogs that we may be missing out on! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs that they may not know existed! So, grab the logo, post about the Hop on your blog, and start HOPPING through the list of blogs that are posted in the Linky list below!!
The Hop lasts Friday-Monday every week, so if you don’t have time to Hop today, come back later and join the fun! This is a weekly event! And stop back throughout the weekend to see all the new blogs that are added! We get over 200 links every week!!
Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.
If you start following someone through the Hop, leave a comment on their blog to let them know! Stop back during the week to see other blogs that are added! And, most importantly, the idea is to HAVE FUN!!

This week’s question:
“Since today is April Fool’s Day in the USA, what is the best prank you have ever played on someone OR that someone has played on you?”
My answer:
Off hand I can’t remember, but I am sure my boys pulled off a few good ones when they were younger.  But what really comes to mind is the one I played on my parents, it fell on Easter Sunday in 1956 and I was born!!!

GIVEAWAY ENTRY PAGE "SNOWDROPS" by A.D. MILLER ENDED

MARCH 31st to APRIL 14th
SNOWDROPS
by A.D. MILLER
SYNOPSIS (from author’s website):
Nick Platt is an English lawyer living in Moscow during the wild Russian oil boom. Riding the subway on a balmy September day, he rescues two willowy sisters, Masha and Katya, from a would-be purse snatcher.

Nick soon begins to feel something for Masha that he is pleased to believe is love. As the snow starts to fall, the sisters introduce him to Tatiana Vladimirovna, their aged aunt and the owner of a valuable apartment. Before summer arrives, Nick will travel down to the sweaty Black Sea and up to the Arctic, and he’ll make disturbing discoveries about his job, his lover and, most of all, himself.
Snowdrops is a fast-paced drama that unfolds during a beautiful but lethally cold Russian winter. Ostensibly a story of naive foreigners and cynical natives, the novel becomes something richer and darker: a tale of erotic obsession, self-deception and moral freefall. It is set in a land of hedonism and desperation, corruption and kindness, magical hideaways and debauched nightclubs; a place where secrets, and corpses, come to light when the snows thaw.

THURSDAY

This week’s question:
What’s the oddest thing you’ve ever read? (You know, something NOT a book, magazine, short story, poem or article.)

My answer:
This was a hard question.  I don’t think this would fall under “odd” but it most definitely falls under “difficult” and over the past 2 months have had to read quite a few “legal documents”.

Photobucket
Hosted by Lori from Dollycas’s Thoughts From Lori’s site:
It struck me recently how much time I spend on this computer every day, blogging, chatting or playing games on Facebook, emailing friends and relatives, making cards and calendars, etc. etc. etc.
We depend on each other for book reviews, giveaways, encouragement, friendship, but how well do we really know each other?
So that is what this meme is all about, getting to know each other.
WEEK 31 QUESTIONS

1. Are you a bath or shower person?
SMILEY SHOWERING

2. Do you bathe/shower in the morning or at night?
Both but mainly at night.

3. Do you have a hot tub or swimming pool?
Swimming in pool smiley

When the boys were young, in the summer we had a houseful with both of their friends being here everyday since we were the one’s with the inground pool.  My hubby couldn’t understand why our grocery bill was so high in the summer…DUH!!! And now that hubby and I have the pool to ourselves, that is where you will find me, I usually am reading either by or in the pool in my reading floating chair.

I am happy with what I accomplished reading since there were major “real life” issues that needed priority attention.  What I did read was:
5/5  These Things Hidden by Heather Gudenkauf
4/5  Twenty-Five Years Ago Today by Stacy Juba
3-4/5  Bitch, Please! by Meagan Munroe
1/5  Sixty-Nine by Pynk  DNF
4/5  Night Road by Kristin Hannah
3/4  The Weight of Glass by Stuart Heatherington
4/5  Miss Hildreth Wore Brown by Olivia deBelle Byrd
