REMINDER:
TOMORROW IS MOVING DAY!!!  I HOPE TO SEE YOU AT MY NEW HOME
WWW.CMASHLOVESTOREAD.COM
The end of another year.  And how fast it went by.  However, it was been a bittersweet year for me.  It’s been two (2) years now that I have been part of this great community of book blogging and reviewing and am having as much fun today as I did when I first started.  I have met many new friends, read some phenomenal books, have had the opportunity for new adventures and have been honored to host Authors as my guests just to name a few events of this past year.  As far as reading, I fell short of what I wanted to accomplish but I hope to do better in 2012.
There were some road blocks that I had to get through this year, but I did, and I want to thank you all for being there for me when I didn’t think I was going to make it to the other side.  Your prayers, genuine concern, caring, words of encouragement and comfort helped me through.  I will forever be thankful.
Tomorrow is going to be a big day for me.
First, I will be moving to my new home over at wordpress.  I hope you all come visit, take down my new address, sign up and/or on, leave me a little comment that the directions I gave or that your GPS worked and you found me.  Since I am not tech savvy, it might take me a while to learn my way around and navigate the new platform, so I apologize in advance.
And tomorrow, the day I have been patiently waiting for.  I am being very optimistic that 2012 is going to be a better year for me….it can’t get any worse  lol…..at least I don’t think so.  Remember all those challenges that I signed up for…..all  23 of them….WooHoo…..they start tomorow.  One of my resolutions this year is to read more.  Because of my personal real life issues, I only read 49 books in 2011…pitiful.  There were some months that I read 1 book.  So let the challenges begin.
HAVE A SAFE, HEALTHY AND HAPPY 2012 NEW YEAR!!

Today’s question:
What were your favorite books of 2011?
My response:
I always get palpitations when a question asks for “a favorite”, maybe because I’m a parent and I would never be able to answer the question “who is my favorite child”.  And since moving into this neighborhood of book blogging and reviewing, I have a total new outlook about books. I used to purchase them, read for enjoyment and either they would go on my shelf or be passed on.  Now I know the hard work, the heart and soul the author puts into writing a particular book for my pleasure of reading.  That book IS “their child”

This year I had the opportunity to read many outstanding books that I would recommend, many more than I am going to list, but I narrowed it down to these 10 that really stood out:
Voices of the Dead by Peter Leonard

Synopsis:
Matt DeMarco is an accomplished Manhattan attorney with more than his share of emotional baggage. His marriage ended disastrously, his ex-wife has pulled their son away from him, and her remarriage to a hugely successful Arab businessman has created complications for Matt on multiple levels. However, his life shifts from troubled to imperiled when two cops – men he’s known for a long time – come into his home and arrest his son as the prime suspect in the murder of the boy’s girlfriend.

Suddenly, the enmity between Matt and his only child is no longer relevant. Matt must do everything he can to clear his son, who he fully believes is innocent. Doing so will require him to quit his job and make enemies of former friends – and it will throw him up against forces he barely knew existed and can only begin to comprehend how to battle.

GODS AND FATHERS is at once a powerful mystery and a provocative international thriller, all of it presented with LePore’s signature fascinating characters placed in dire circumstances where every choice poses new and potentially fatal challenges.
