Todays Musing:
What book tops your TBR (to be read) pile right now? Is it something you own, or something you have to borrow, or something you’ll be purchasing? Why do you want to read it so badly?

My Response:
The top of my TBR Review Pile, and waiting to be picked up, is The Nobodies Album by Carolyn Parkhurst.  I have read some really good reviews and even had a giveaway, so can’t wait to get my hands on it.
When I went “public” with my blog, I really thought requests for reviews would be far and few between, but was wrong.  I haven’t read a book from my Personal TBR Bucket Pile since January.  My “Review Policy” is that I read requested review books in order that I receive.  So the day they get delivered, a post-it goes on the front of the book, with date received and from who and any other notes regarding that book, example if there is a giveaway, guest author posting, etc etc.  Every book in my TBR Review pile, I am anxious to read because either I asked to read it or when an email was sent asking if I would review, I read the synopsis to see if I think I would enjoy and be a good “match”.  My pile is high but am looking forward to reading each and every one of them.  Happy Reading all!!!

Slapdash Sunday (1 of 2)

SUNDAY

Did you see my posting on Friday regarding the Bestselling Author Vincent Zandri?  Check it out !!!  He has been very busy having been on tour for Moonlight Falls, and his latest novel The Remains and his new Mini Digital, Pathological.  And as busy as he has been, he will be stopping by today and answering your questions or responding to your comments.  So grab a seat, get comfortable and ask away.   Today is the last day we will have him!!!!

Slapdash Sunday is a day for your proverbial week ‘leftovers.’ Is there something you wanted to say, but just forgot? Is there something you want to write about, but isn’t worth a whole page? Do you have a random thought, funny or otherwise that needs to be written down?
That is what Slapdash Sunday is for!
Yesterday I mentioned hosting a 2011 Challenge.  I signed up for many 2010 Challenges thinking that review requests would be far and few between and at the time of signing up, I was a very new public blogger.
I had signed up for a 50+ Book Challenge with Reading With Sea, unfortunately, last month she announced that she was deleting her blog.  I signed up for this challenge after signing up for the 100+.  I knew I would never complete the 100+ but felt that I could finish the 50+.
I am having so much fun and enjoying every minute of this new world of book blogging and reviewing, and am amazed and pleasantly surprised as to the level my blog has reached.  I think that the next thing I would like to accomplish is hosting a 2011 Challenge, BUT, not sure the how-tos.  Would appreciate any assistance.
Today for Slapdash Sunday my questions are:
  • Would you be interested in a 50+ Book Challenge?
  • How to make a button/icon with name of challenge, name of blog, and address.
  • How to set up a sign up page (think I know but not sure if I am right)
  • How to set up a “report” page (ditto for above)
  • When and Where to announce to let people know about the challenge
  • Do you know if someone else is doing this challenge (not sure of the blogging etiquette regarding this)
  • Does my blog have enough experience to host a Challenge?
Would love to hear what you think.  Would you be interested in a 50+ Book Challenge?  Do you have any experience in setting one up?  Do you have any advice to give me, and if you do, thank you!!!

A Bit Of Me (2 of 3)

Hosted by Danielle at There’s A Book

From her blog:
We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.
Today’s Topic:
This Weeks Question: Your absolute greatest phobia.
A Bit Of Me:
I have 2….snakes and heights.    I can’t even look at snakes on the tv.  While on vacation many years ago, we went to an exhibit, not knowing what was to come.  And then there was a warning to stay seated.  And out comes an Anaconda that was 18 ft long.  I was surprised I didn’t faint.  But my eyes were shut tight and my heart was pounding.  The other phobia is heights.  I have trouble getting on tall ladders lol.  While on a cruise, I never got close to the rail on the top deck because of my fear.
Now you know a little bit more about me.  What is your absolute phobia?

From An Island Life:
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, visit An Island Life answer the question and then post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My Question?
On Wednesday my mom celebrated her 89th birthday!!
So my question is:  How do you celebrate your birthday?
My Answer:
On my 29th, 34th, 42, 49,  birthday, hubby and I usually go out to eat with

our 2 sons and their gfs, and then stop some where for an after dinner drink.

And hubby always surprises me with a great gift!!
