Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of A girl and her books and is now on tour.
According to Marcia, “Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

Twenty-seven years ago today, God blessed me with another son.  I can’t believe how fast the time has gone by.  I am so lucky to be his mother.  He fills me with love and pride as I see the man he has become.  And this year, on November 16th, he will be getting married and presenting me with a daughter, Jess, who my husband and I love and consider her our daughter.

Happy Birthday Mark!!!  I Love You!!!

You will always be my baby!

This week’s question:
Clocks change this weekend here in the US, which means one less hour to read … does anybody else begrudge that hour like I do? Wish the Powers That Be would just pick a time-frame and stick to it instead of inflicting clock-driven jet lag on an innocent public twice a year?
(Yeah, so not a question so much about reading … except, of course, you do need to use your electric light to be able to read, so the hour it gets dark IS relevant!)

My response:
I agree.  I understand some of the reasons, such as it being dark when children are waiting for buses to transport them to school, but wish that the time changes be done with.  I don’t know about you, but it takes me at least a week for my internal clock to adjust.  And I find that, during the winter when it gets dark at 4:30pm, makes the evening seem so much longer.  I am very much looking forward to the longer sun filled days.

What about you?  Does the time change affect you in any ways?  Do you wish that changing the clocks be abolished?

Teaser Tuesday

th_teasertuesdays3Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Abby knew what he meant, and she managed a smile. She wouldn’t tell him what she thought  the the worst wouldn’t be over until her family was found.

Aloha Friday

Hosted by An Island Life

From An Island Life:
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, visit An Island Life answer the question and then post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

I am a cable news junkie. The past few weeks I have been watching the live coverage of a death penalty case being tried in AZ. Which brings me to today’s questions:
1. Are you following the Jodi Arias murder trial?
2. If so, do you think the jury will decide on the death penalty?
3. If so, do you think she should receive the death penalty?

Monday Memes

I want to apologize for the images on this site recently.  I have been using PhotoBucket for years and was really happy, even becoming a paid subscriber.  Recently, without subscribers knowing, changed the whole site.  Members are livid since the services they either paid for and or used is a mess and useless  and where nothing works.  I  enjoyed adding images in the past, but until, I find another site that works, images from  there will no longer be posted.  Do you use a “photo” site?  All suggestions welcome.

Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading

This week’s muse:
Miz B has recently changed the format for this meme. Instead of a weekly question we can now just post our thoughts on anything pertaining to books and/or reading.

My thoughts:
HELP!!!  I have been in such a reading slump these past 2 months.  Reading 2 books in January and currently reading my 2nd book for February.  I don’t know why, but wish I did.  I can’t say it’s because of the books I am reading and/or have read because they have all been a 4 or 5 star read.  Any and all suggestions welcome.

I will admit, that my reading time has been affected due to Partners In Crime Tours and Providence Book Promotions’ duties.  But I just don’t have the desire, and again it isn’t because of the books I am choosing, to read.  The books are definitely holding my attention when I do pick them up, it’s just that I am not feeling the urge that I want to read.

Has this ever happened to you?  Any suggestions to get me out of this reading slump or whatever it is.  AAny comments and/or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

If you look forward to UPS delivering packages, I wanted to share a service I recently signed up for.   Which brings me to today’s question:
Will you be signing up for this service?

I recently found and signed up for email alerts from UPS.  This past week, I received 2 emails, informing me to expect a package on a certain day and from who.  It also allows me to reschedule the delivery if I won’t be home to receive it.

I will be honest, I know approximately what time UPS usually delivers and used to anxiously await , to see if  my doorbell would ring, notifying me that a package has been delivered.  Now I know ahead of time.  I think, especially if you order large and/or expensive purchases online, this would alleviate any fears that such a delivery could get stolen.

It is easy to register and is a free service.  You can learn more about UPS My Choice here.  I hope this information has helped.
