GIVEAWAY ENTRY PAGE "A WORLD I NEVER MADE" ENDED

MAY 10th to MAY 24th, 2011
A WORLD I NEVER MADE
by JAMES LEPORE
SYNOPSIS:
Pat Nolan, an American man, is summoned to Paris to claim the body of his estranged daughter Megan, who has committed suicide. The body, however, is not Megan’s and it becomes instantly clear to Pat that Megan staged this, that she is in serious trouble, and that she is calling to him for help. This sends Pat on an odyssey with Catherine Laurence, a beautiful but tormented Paris detective, that stretches across France and into the Czech Republic and that makes him the target of both the French police and a band of international terrorists. Megan has taken a Saudi businessman as a lover, not realizing until it is too late that doing so has put the lives of many—maybe even millions—at risk.

Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

How are things going up there?”
“Not good.  They think someone killed my father.”
“What?  Are you serious?  Who?”
“Don’t know.  Chris maybe.  But he’s gone.”

600!!!!

I can’t believe it !!!!!  Rebecca from Confessions of a Page Turner brought something to my attention the other day about MY blog that I didn’t notice (darn those senior moments).  Thank you Rebecca!!
I am amazed!!  No…I am blown away!!!  No….I am flabbergasted!!!   Hold on one second…..I’ll be right back………………OK, I’m back.  Had to check my Thesaurus and I am all of the following:
affect, alarm, astonish, astound, bewilder, blow away, blow one’s mind, bowl over, daze, dumbfound, electrify, flabbergast*, impress, move, perplex, put one away, shock, stagger, startle, strike, stun, stupefy, touch*
600 followers!! How can that be?  A year and a half ago I didn’t even know this wonderful world of book blogging existed.   I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every single minute of it even though my tbr list has grown whereas I will need at least 3+ more life times to read all the books I have added.  I can also say that I have met the most amazing, genuine, kind, caring, friendly, helpful, funny and special people that have accepted me into this community and that I consider them friends.
600 followers!!!  I couldn’t have done it without you.  From the bottom of my heart, Thank You!!!  Those 2 words just don’t seem adequate as to how I am feeling right now.  I remember when I first went “public” and had 1 follower, I was so excited.  Never, NEVER, would I have thought with that 1 follower that some day it would be possible to even imagine having 600 followers!!!!  Absolutely amazing!!
In appreciation, to you, the fantastic and fabulous followers of the CMash blog, starting tomorrow there will be a new giveaway every day this week.  Also, May will be a month of Giveaway Galore, so stop by and enter.  Good Luck!!!!!  And again, THANK YOU!!!!!!

This week’s question:
Do you ever find scenes from previous books you’ve read popping into your head at random times? If so, does it bother you? If it doesn’t happen to you, why do you think that is?

My answer:
Yes.  But I can’t say it bothers me, it just justifies that the 5/5 rating I gave it was accurate. When a book stays with me long after I finish the last page and something in real life triggers a scene that either I created in my mind or reminds me of a particular book, to me means it was a phenomenal read.  Two come to mind right away.  Whenever I see the commercial for, I think it it is, the Marriot Hotel where a man is spinning plates on sticks, Spinning by Michael Baron instantly comes to mind.  And now whenever I hear anything about Nantucket, I think of Beachcombers by Nancy Thayer.  If an author has that ability, that’s an author that try to read every book he/she writes.

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of A girl and her books and is now on tour.

According to Marcia, “Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.”
