The Language of Secrets by Dianne Dixon

The Language of Secrets by Dianne Dixon (ARC)

Published by Doubleday
ISBN 978-0-385-530-63-7
At the request of Doubleday, a PB copy was sent, at no cost to me. for my honest opinion
Synopsis: (from back of book) Justin Fisher has a successful career as the manager of a luxury hotel, a lovely wife, and a charming young son. While all signs point to a bright future, Justin can no longer ignore the hole in his life left by his estranged family. When he finally gathers the courage to reconnect with his troubled past, Justin is devastated to learn that his parents have passed away. And a visit to the cemetery brings the greatest shock of all-next to the graves of his father and mother sits a smaller tombstone for a three-year-old boy: a boy named Thomas Justin Fisher.
What follows in an extraordinary journey as Justin struggles with issues of his own identity and pieces together the complex and heartbreaking truth about this family.

My Thoughts and Opinion: Dianne Dixon, the author of this book, writes a brilliant and masterful story of one family’s heartbreaks, betrayals, lies, control, and secrets that can hurt so many people. The book is divided between the past and present lives of Justin, his parents and two sisters. The author interweaves the characters, that were dramatically life like, that it could be either a family the reader knows or maybe even their own. There is suspense as Justin tries to reclaim a life and family, that he thought he knew, because of a song his mother taught him as a three year old toddler, only to find out there are pieces missing in the puzzle of his life. With an ending that was a total surprise. In the plot of this story line, the author conveys about life’s lessons and the reality of that saying, that life is too short. A beautiful and emotional book to the very last page. I highly recommend that everyone reads this book, whatever age, because it will have the reader reflecting about their own life.

Memorial Day

Hope everyone has some fun plans for this long weekend, Memorial Day.  The unofficial start of summer.  But lets not forget what Memorial Day is about.  Stop and take a minute to remember those that gave their lives for our freedom.

Any special plans this weekend?

No memes today !!!  I am still on the lookout for another one for Saturdays .  I love participating in daily memes and meeting new blogging buddies BUT yesterday I went overboard.  I had 6 memes going and all that hopping was too much.  A bloggy friend, Julie, who I value her opinion, made me see the error of my ways  lol.  So today I will just be doing my computer to-do list, draft some postings and writing a review.  And then I will relax and read.      Happy Memorial Day and Happy Reading !!!!!

TGIF !!!!  THE DAY OF MEMES!!  And the day to do a lot of blog hopping.  Today I am also particpating in two new memes that look like fun.  One (posting 3 of 6) is the debut of this  new hop.  And another, (posting 4 of 6) will be the first time I am participating in.  I found this meme via Vicki’s blog, Reading At The Beach, and it sounded like fun. So put on your sneakers and lets go hop!!!

From An Island Life:
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, visit An Island Life answer the question and then post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
My Question:
This weekend is the unofficial start of summer.  So my question is, which do you prefer, ocean or pool?
My Answer:
Pool, especially since we have one in the backyard, but if on vacation, then its the beach.

Hosted by Jennifer from CRAZY FOR BOOKS http://www.crazy-for-books.com/
Here are the instuctions from her site:

Every day I seem to find another book blog that I start following. In the spirit of the Friday Follow, I thought it would be cool to do a Book Blog Hop to give us all bookies a chance to connect and find new blogs that we may be missing out on! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs that they may not know existed!
So, if you’d like to participate, just repost this on your blog, sign MckLinky on her site, and check out other blogs in MckLinky! Let’s connect and make new book bloggy friends!! So, if you consider yourself a book blogger, come join the fun!
Pretty please – Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.

Friday Follow ( 3 of 6 )

Today is the first day of this brand new blog.  I think it sounds like a lot of fun so have added my name to particpate.   Here are all the details:

friday-follow

Hosted by Tami from Hearts Make Families,Ian from The Daily Dose of Reality, and Harriet from Harriet and Friends
Rules:

This blog is going to be strictly set up for new and improved Friday Follow. The purpose is to help out new bloggers as they come into this huge blogosphere and to help grow membership for some of the bigger blogs as well.
Starting on May 28, the newly renovated Friday Follow will be run on this blog. We will be hosting the first Friday Follow.
On June 4, we have already set up two of the hosts, Stephanie from Babes Rockin Mami and Michelle from Mommy Loves Stilettos. We are still waiting for confirmation on the third.
However, we are looking for hosts for later dates. We have decided that three hosts is a good number for each blog hop. As usual, the top slots will be reserved for the hosts so they will get a lot more attention to their blogs.
I will prepare the post each week but the hosts will run the blog hop. Since I will be preparing the slot each week, we do ask that each host showcase their work. The person in slot one will showcase their work on Monday. The person in slot two will showcase their work on Tuesday. The person in slot three will showcase their work on Thursday.
Since there is some work involved in running this site as well, #4, #5, and #6 will be used by the administrators of the blog.
Now here is where some lucky winners come into play. After each blog hop, we will be drawing 3 lucky winners for slot 7, 8, and 9 by using random.org. There is another bonus to being the first person pulled. We will be doing an interview with that person on Thursday to showcase their blog. What a great benefit!
We do expect you to be on your honor here. Here are some basic guidelines:
*Grab the button up top
*Add your link to the linky
*Tell everyone that you know. This is a great way to get your blog more followers.
*Follow the ones you like (and comment on their blogs to say that you are following)

Little things about the hop which are normal every where:
*Follow someone if they follow you – It is common courtesy.
*Only one linky per blog.
*No xxrated blogs
*No spammers

5 Question Friday (4 of 6)

And another new one for me that I found via Vicki at Reading At The Beach.  I have seen it for a couple of weeks now and another one that looks like fun, so will be particpating today for the 1st time.
