Here are the instuctions from her site:
Every day I seem to find another book blog that I start following. In the spirit of the Friday Follow, I thought it would be cool to do a Book Blog Hop to give us all bookies a chance to connect and find new blogs that we may be missing out on! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs that they may not know existed!
So, if you’d like to participate, just repost this on your blog, sign MckLinky on her site, and check out other blogs in MckLinky! Let’s connect and make new book bloggy friends!! So, if you consider yourself a book blogger, come join the fun!
Pretty please – Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.

Friday Fill-Ins (4 of 5)

And…here we go!
1. I was missing my laptop and blogging while in hospital.
2. I ran some errands and I left my book on the table, which I never do, can’t leave home without a book!
3. Why does it seem that morals and courtesy have disappeared?.
4. Hubby was in my thoughts today.
5. One of my father’s favorite sayings was “diamonds are an investment”.
6. Feeling naked without a book–I know that feeling!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to resting, tomorrow my plans include reading and resting and Sunday, I want to do something but will have to rest and read, can’t do much else while recuperating!

Monthly Wrap Up (5 of 5)

Another month has passed.  To me it feels that I lost this whole month due to being in the hospital twice and being so sick.  But now that I am on the right road to recovery, I am looking forward to May where I hope to do a lot of catch up reading while I recuperate. April wrap up is looking quite sad but here goes:

Silent Scream by Karen Rose (Rating 5)
Published by Grand Central Publishing The Hachette Book Group
At the request of The Hachette Book Group, a PB copy was sent, at no cost to me, for my honest opinion.
Synopsis: (from back of book) He knows your secrets. When a teenage girl dies in a suspicious fire, Detective Olivia Sutherland is assigned to track down the arsonist. Then she discovers something more sinister: a vicious blackmailer who preys on young people and murders without hesitation. Making her work even harder is sexy firefighter David Hunter. He’s not only sharing the case, but sparking memories of their long-ago night of passion, when feelings were left unsaid and hearts were broken. He hears your pain. David has his own ghosts, and a million regrets. But while he and Olivia try to face the wall of pain between them, a diabolical puppet master is pulling strings to make a group of twenty-somethings do his bidding. Soon Olivia and David are scouring the city for a calculating criminal who seems tantalizingly close- and is moving in for the kill.
My Thoughts/Opinion: Lock the door, pull down the blinds and don’t answer the phone. This book pulls you in from page one and doesn’t let go. GRIPPING!! It contains so many story lines, murder, arson, blackmail, relationships, romance, all in one book. I have only one word for the author’s writing style….AMAZING!!. From page 1 to page 570, this book is a non stop roller coaster ride of suspense with many twists and turns. And an ending that this reader didn’t see coming. This is the second book that I have read of this author and I will be reading more of her books in the future. I am looking forward to reading her newest book I Can See You, which is out now.

Unfortunately I was not able to join in on my fun Wednesday memes.  Had appointments for in home medical care, which wiped me out.  The assessments went well, especially physical therapy, but they will be coming back 3 times a week to build up my muscles and wean me from the walker to a cane.  Even though it took a lot out of me and what they made me do increased my pain level, I was so happy to hear them say that I was so much better than the first discharge and felt that with future therapy I will become stronger.  Another good thing that came out of it was since my pain level increased, I was not able to sit in front of my computer but sat in my recliner, read and finished a book.  WooHoo…starting to get the ball rolling.  Review will be posted later today.  Now to today’s meme.

Today’s question:
God* comes to you and tells you that, from this day forward, you may only read ONE type of book–one genre–period, but you get to choose what it is. Classics, Science-Fiction, Mystery, Romance, Cookbooks, History, Business … you can choose, but you only get ONE.

What genre do you pick, and why?
This one is easy, don’t even have to think twice.  It would be mystery/suspense.  I can’t even tell you how many years I have been reading this genre, trust me…it’s a lot.  I have been an avid reader as long as I can remember and have always gravitated to the mystery/suspense books.  I think I enjoy these books because I try to be a PI and figure out the ending.
