Teaser Tuesday

Hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

It has been quite a while since I have read a Sandra Brown book and even though I have just started it,  I realize why so many years ago, I became a fan of her work.

Overpowering him would be impossible, especially since one jerk of his index finger would fire a bullet straight into her.

Today’s question:

Do you listen to audiobooks? Why, or why not?

My answer:
No and for a few reasons.  I have this misconception, and I don’t know why, that it would put me to sleep listening to someone speak for hours.  Would it take away from me creating my own vivid images?  Would I truly pay full attention?  I’m not a multitasker.  For example, while I am blogging and/or doing paperwork in my home office, I always have the TV turned on to a cable news station , but I wouldn’t be able to tell you what the anchors had been talking about.  See my point?  However, I see that a lot of bloggers do seem to enjoy this mode of reading so maybe someday I will give it a try.

Steve Update and Friday Memes

Hi Friends!!
You may have noticed that after posting the good news about my husband on Monday, stating that he had been discharged on Sunday, that he was doing well, etc and that I would be easing back into my daily routine, that I haven’t.  The reason being, a few hours after posting that news, I had to call 911 and my husband was rushed back to the hospital and readmitted.  He had an “episode” of a full blown stroke like symptoms, however, by the time rescue got him to the ER, the symptoms subsided and were gone.  After multiple tests, all coming back negative, the conclusion was that his anti seizure medication was not at a therapeutic blood level.  It has been adjusted and he was, once again, discharged yesterday hopefully for good this time.  Again, I want to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers, concern, caring, and comforting words.  It has meant more than you will ever know!!!!

Hi Everyone!!!!!
First and foremost I want to thank everyone for the prayers, kind and comforting words, concern, kindness and genuine caring that you have shown to me and for my husband Steve over this past week.  The support you gave me was overwhelming and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Now for the good news.  Steve was discharged to home yesterday!!!!  He finally got a good night’s sleep in his own bed without all the noise and commotion of the hospital settings.  He still has surgical incisional pain but that is normal.  And what we are really excited about is that the symptoms that he was exhibiting from the pressure on his brain has resolved.
I thank you all for the prayers as I truly believe they were heard for the remarkable outcome of this situation.  I have to be honest in saying, I have never been this frightened in my life.
The last time I said I was back, disaster struck.  So instead, I am saying, I am around lol.  And to everyone:

Today’s question:
Do you judge a book by its cover?
My response:
I admit, I do tend to judge a book by it’s cover.  For example, I am not a fan of PNR, historicals, UF and a few other genres so if the cover looks like it may fall into any of those categories, I will pass them by.  But then there are the books, by favorite  authors, even if I’m not crazy about the cover but will read no matter what is on the cover.

What about you?  Do you have a judge a book by it’s cover?
